mactra
Hey I am new here. I Just installed OSX 10.5.2 on my pc and I can't get access to my ethernet connection The MoBo is an Asus M2NE- SLI and it has a 2.8Ghz fx chip I am using the on board Ethernet Nvidia nforce network adapter and installed nforce-drivers in the installationprogram.... Are there now any solutions? I downloaded also 3-4 different kext´s for Nforce "ethernet" but none worked... Is it really just: add to kext helper and install? not more? dransiksucks
Hey, did you try going into your network and checking that the ethernet is activated??? Click System Preferences, click network, then look at your ethernet on the left side, does it have a green light to it?? or is it red?? click on it and hit apple on the bottom right corner of that window... it should work. Unless you got the wrong driver for it. Let me know. Also is this a Retail OS X Leopard install or is it hacked version like iPC, Kalaway, iDeneb etc... etc.. Try upgrading to 10.5.8 if its a retail install, shouldnt be any problems and it could fix the ethernet on its own. mactra
It doesnt work... In the Systeminformation it´s just called "Ethernet" shouldn´t it be "nforce ethernet" or so? dransiksucks
mine says just ethernet in the network in my system profiler. You sure you got the right drivers? I've been looking for WINDOWS drivers for this motherboard for you... and I cant even find drivers for Windows even on the Asus website lol... so goodluck with the MAC ahaha.. You should just buy a Hawking HWUG1 USB wireless internet device, it works 100% with my hackintosh desktop and my HP HDX 16 laptop... just need the updated driver from their website. (They make the HWUG1A for MAC only... but the HWUG1 model works for MAC AND WINDOWS!!!) here is the link to the driver http://www.hawkingtech.com/support/details...&ProdID=302 you can buy the device from their website, or tigerdirect costs about 60-70 dollars... but its super good and no problems. ************ OR!!!!! You can get an ethernet card that works 100% with MAC, the one I use on my desktop is a Belkin Gigabit Desktop PCI Card it should say right on the box that it supports MAC need to install the drivers first obviously... then once thats done, go to network and click the ethernet and click apply and it will 100% work http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=42256&am...ufacture=Belkin must be the F5D 5005 version Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198287-ethernet-problem/#findComment-1335047 Share on other sites
