laatmaarzien
Seems like the 7xxx Series GEForce cards are the ones KP'ing. Wonder if we can restore a KEXT from 10.6.1... No idea where to start looking though. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196762-1062-released/page/3/#findComment-1325272 Share on other sites
srg2k5
Why do I get a black screen on 10.6.2 boot ?This vanilla install worked fine on 10.6.1 ----- EDIT ----- I deleted the gfx strings from com.apple.boot.plist and I can now boot in VESA mode with 10.6.2 So I assume that my hex string is bad. I believe its something with the 8800GT. I have the exact same card. I was using an EFI string as well. Same exact error after updating from 10.6.1 to 10.6.2, black screen. Removed the EFI string works again. I tried creating a new string, same problem. As of this moment I have yet to find a fix but Im positive its something to do with the 8800GT 512mb EFI String. Bidule200
Good to know I'm not alone ! I'm now sure it's this HEX string. Did you try with another string like 8800GT 256MB ? Did you try an injector ? If you find a solution please tell me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196762-1062-released/page/3/#findComment-1325276 Share on other sites

Bidule200
Seems only reported success are those with DSDT for GFX Since I don't understand anything about customizing the DSDT.aml, I've just compiled it with DSDT Patcher GUI, so that ethernet now works without kext and so that I don't get the CMOS reset on boot, but I don't know how to make the DSDT aware of my ALC889A and my 8800GT 512Mo I heard that it's possible but I don't understand anything by reading the tutorials. Any help for a DSDT noob ? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196762-1062-released/page/3/#findComment-1325305 Share on other sites
breakingbad
HI all. Can anyone here help a noob in Terminal commands? I updated my system without knowing that SleepEnabler would brick my system in 10.6.2 and now I can´t access my SL install. As I keep one Kalyway DVD here for emergency my only option for accessing my SL install is via Terminal in what I am a noob. I know almost nothing, so I ask... can anyone send me the line to type in Terminal to delete the SleepEnabler.kext ? Cheers. bb. 386
core i5 on p55 works great on vanilla kernel in 32-bit and 64-bit, but a 64-bit realtek r1000 kext needs to be compiled/ported for x86_64 mode to be money on these current p55 boards. frtommy
Hi to all. I update my Hackbook. Acer Extensa 5220 from 10.6.1 to 10.6.2 I download the update from Apple site. I don't update from software update. I update the system, and overwrite the NullCPU kext with the new from Netkas. I don't have sleppenabler. I reboot, and after, when I choose my partition with chameleon 2RC3 and Pcefi 10.5 , after 3 second, my notebook reboot. I can't acces to desktop. The only way to run SL is from my HD USB installation with 10.6.1. Can you help me? With the repeat reboot after i choose SL 10.6.2 in Chameleon. Thank you very very much to all. Sorry for my english errors. Bye bye. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196762-1062-released/page/3/#findComment-1325560 Share on other sites
