mrjanek
Question for mrjanek: I got: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6300 , 2.8GHz, socket 775, 2MB Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR Memory: 2GB PC8500 1066MHz Graphics: Gigabyte 9600GT, 512 RAM, GV-N96TSL-512I Can I run OSX Snow Leopard on this configuration? Also, can I run it with ATA Hard drive and ATA DVD-RW od I will must buy SATA Hard drive and SATA DVD-RW? Thanks! This config should work great. Both of your IDE devices should work just fine. In other words a S-ATA harddrive and a S-ATA DVD-RW is not necessary.

mikedddd
Getting an error that I can't get past, would really like any suggestions. After install, I get the following... boot0 : GPT boot0 : testing boot0 : testing boot0 : error This is with the USB install on a UD3R I get the same problem if I use the CD installer after I install the bootloader. 8500 processor, 4 gb ram, 8800 GTO video card, PCI GA311 ethernet card. It is a 1.5 tb drive, is there a problem with larger drives and the installer? Tried reinstalling Chameleon. Tried flagging the partition in terminal to boot, but no effect. Tried changing the SATA ports used, no dice. I'd actually like a KP to deal with over this. Any ideas? Best, Mike
cocokool
I have a few question regarding the easiest way for me getting a running OS X on my PC. My specs: GB GA-EX58-UD4P (uses same chipset UD5) Core i7 920 (overclocked) GFX: Asus ATI HD 4890 Wireless adapter : SMCWUSB-G EU EZ Connect g I don't have a MAC so can i still use the instruction? Will i have compatibility problems with UD4P board? Is the installation easier with a NVIDIA card? Will i be able to update? What hardware problems can be expected? Thanks! worf17
Hey mrjanek I experience a kernel panic when I attempt to boot off of the thumb drive ( screen telling me to restart the pc). I just built this pc two weeks ago. - EP45-UD3L. Haven't flashed the bios to the latest version yet. - SATA 500GB hdd w/ win7 on first partition, and leopard (iatkos v7) on second partition, and Xubuntu on third partition and two other ntfs data storage partitions. I think the hdd is all MBR?!? - IDE DVD-RW. - ATI HD3650 GPU based graphic card (Asus EAH 3650 i think) - Intel E6300 (wolfdale) processor (OC'd to 3.7 ghz from 2.8 ghz stock if this is somehow relevent) - OCZ PC8500+ (1066mhz) 2 x 2GB sticks. Now the thumb drive i restored the image of snow leopard (DLed off of TPB) onto was originally formatted as NTFS in order to transport the SL image from another computer runnning XP to the leopard partition on my main computer. So basically when I boot off of the USB stick it goes to the Chameleon booter from where I can boot off of the USB drive and then I get the kernel panic (restart) screen. Is this how it is supposed to work? If need be I'm willing to clear out all the partitions to get SL working and then try getting Win7 and Xubuntu on it afterwards. Any idea what is causing the kernel panic? Edit: I wiped the partition of leopard clean and now I get a boot0: testing (3x) boot0: error message when I try to boot off the thumbdrive as both usb-cdrom and usb-hdd. ThePhoenixUK
Does your 1.3 Release definately work mrjanek ? As I can't get it booted due to a Image Checksum Failed error on the ISOLinux prompt when it boots the disc. I have download the file 3 times using different browsers to different locations, ectracted it a hald dozen times using 7Zip, WinRAR and WinZIP, burnt at varying speeds to 4 different CD's (mixture of CD-R & CD-RW) and still no luck. Any help please ? or could I have the link to the 1.2 release as my board is the EP45-UD3R as displayed in my signature. Also, do you think I will have any issues as I have heard people who have the GTX260, etc series of Nvidia cards get a black screen when trying to load the setup, cos Ihave already tried with such as EmpireEFI and get this issue. Many thanks. Jamie.

Tristan
Do i have to change anything or can i use the UD5 settings? I'm not familiar with the UD5's BIOS but I always disable my IDE controller when installing OS X. On a separate note, I've managed to get my dual GTX 285 working in SL 10.6.2! My install is finally done (audio, network (wireless and wired), video)!

ThePhoenixUK
So have you guys been able to use the 1.3 ISO then ? If none of you have tried, don't spose any of you have a 1.2 or 1.1 you can put on Rapidshare or something for me could you ? Jamie
Tristan
Just tried that, it doesn't fix the kp. Is it possibly my ATI HD3650? I can't say for certain, though given the problems with ATI cards on SL, it is possible. I had to use an old 8800GT that I knew was supported to install SL before switching to my GTX 285. Still, since you're using the usb installer, there ought to be a way to copy the necessary ATI kexts into the Extras folder and load them at boot.
