AXEL2100
I have installed on a GA-EP43-UD3L, without Trouble. Sorry, it's been a while since I've been on here. I finally tried to install Mac OS X on my EP43-UD3L and installed kakewalk. I was wondering if you also had issues with sound and nvidia cards. My sound still isn't working and neither is my gtx 460. Any help appreciated.

septicdeath
I figured I would visit back and see if anyone else has experienced the same thing. I have a EX58-ud5, with a default clocked i7 920 in it. I have run kakewalk (as well as just about every flavor of install on this gigabyte board). I even posted a couple of months ago as I flirted with my issue. Keep in mind, that I had the system just as the first release of kakewalk came out, and it ran from 10.6.0 to 10.6.3 without a crash at all, no matter what I pushed it just chugged along. The system has OZ 12800 memory in it (12 gigs) along with a 240 gig SSD and a few other sata drives. As soon as I updated to 10.6.4, the system became unstable and I played around with it, rebuilding it via kakewalk, #####, digital dreamers scripts) and after about 2 weeks and tweaking everything and all, I got it to stay stable for a couple of days, but If I ran a couple of virtual machines and say a resource hog like photoshop, 100% of the time it would crash. Fast forward 6 months and I finally lost some work due to a kernel panic, so I got frustrated and thought, why dont I pull 6 gigs of memory. That was a month ago, with uptime over 720 hours now. I've tried pulling dimms and rotating them through trying to find a bad dimm, none are bad, windows 7 on the box doesn't crash and memtest tests clean, its just running osx and the 6 dimms, and it crashes, take 3 out and it works. If I had larger dimms, I would try to see if its actually the # of dimms or the amount of memory. Although up intel 10.6.4 I ran 12 with no issues, I wonder if its a faulty dimm slot? as its not the memory. Im running just fine on 6gb, but I cant fire up two virtual machines and use osx at the same time anymore, just thought I would ask if anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance. mrsentraser
Having an issue with my newly built hackintosh. Love the kalkwalk install, it worked great on my EP35-DS3R. I got an EP45-DS3P for cheap so I upgraded my hackintosh. Did a fresh install of OSX and used my Kakewalk CD from before to install. Everything was working okay, so I updated to the latest version of OSX 10.6.8 and still everything was working fine... Now all of the sudden, about a week later it will lock up. It won't completely freeze, but applications seem to crash and the system won't allow another program to start. Icons bounce, but stop without a program actually loading. At this point I have to power it off and restart. Is there an event viewer (like in windows) where I can see what's causing the freeze? Usually not running anything too wild. Email (Microsoft Outlook), Firefox, and Spark (corporate IM software). I tried using the newest version of Kakewalk installed to a USB drive. The sound vanished when I used it and it still locked up. I reverted back to the cd install I had of an older version. Suggestions?
mrsentraser
I'm looking in console for reasons why my setup freezes and fails. I see these lines below, hopefully someone can help. image host I'll try to find a kakewalk forum and post on there too.
iLLNESS
anyone else have issues with kakewalk and snow leopard install? about half way through the install it says that some files could not be copied so the install fails. installing from 16gb usb thumb. EDIT: was a hdd failure. used a different and its good now. GA-EX58-UD5, post install (10.6) neither of my network cards were installed though. couldnt download 10.6.5 update for kakewalk installer to run after. had to reboot to get kext util/kext for network and was not able to boot back into the kakewalk install??? is this normal. it said no kake kernel exists on the drive anymore. EDIT: i didn't realize you had to boot from the usb stick still. regardless, did the combo update and im running fine right now GTX260 working, audio working, so im happy

mrsentraser
I installed on an EP35-DS3R using the 2.1 disc and picking EP45-UD3R. The only difference is my board has onboard RAID which shouldn't matter for OSX. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you too.
Dragon Master
Can anyone give me an idea of a good USB Wireless dongle to buy. The criteria that I am interested in are that it is 300Mbps Draft N, works with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and/or 10.7, and I want it to be recognized as an Airport. If not a USB dongle, perhaps a PCI-E card for my desktop. Thanks in advance for the information everyone!!!
