Any tips? K Don't tell me, let me guess - you have the rev. 2.0 board. See here: http://puru.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&...08&start=30 for a successful resolution to sound and ethernet problems on the X58A-UD7 rev 2.0 (works for the UD3R rev. 2.0 board also)

You might not be at the end of the tunnel, but you can at least see some light down there, lol!
Brandon C
Does anyone know if the GA-EG41MFT-US2H motherboard is supported? What about the Intel GMA X4500 grafics? Is there any Micro ATX / Mini ITX supported motherboard for Kakewalk? I´m planning to build a mediacenter connected to my tv... Yes the GIGABYTE GA-G41M-ES2L is a Micro ATX board. It is also the cheapest board on Newegg ($57) and works great with the USB method. The only downside is it only has 2 memory slots, but 2-4gb is plenty for a mediacenter. balthisar
Anyone applied the Snow Leopard Graphics Update that came out yesterday? I'm on a good 10.6.4 system, but just wondering if it's safe!

Shaithis
Unfortunately this didnt work at all for me. As soon as i get to the bootloader and select it i get a black screen and the Radeon fan starts run at 100%. Do i have to alter something from the vanilla Kakewalk install because of the graphics card? Or should i rather get a 10.6.0 DVD as most people use them? When the darwin bootloader appears, hit enter and use the switches: GraphicsEnabler=No arch=i386 That should let you install. You will have to enter them every time or add them into the boot plist in the /Extras directory. You will also need to install the drivers and ATY_Init.kext from netkas.org, you should find the drivers easily on his blog.

Brandon C
Yes installed it via Software update NO problems Ray Reading over on the tonymac forums if you have Nvidia no worries, but with ATI you might need to patch and rebuild kexts depending on card model. http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4721

Vert
Hi all, I own a MacBook Pro and I'm planning to use the Kakewalk method to build a Hackintosh. I am wondering if I can simply restore my current Time Machine backup of the MBP onto the new Hackintosh?

GrootWitBaas
Hi all, I own a MacBook Pro and I'm planning to use the Kakewalk method to build a Hackintosh. I am wondering if I can simply restore my current Time Machine backup of the MBP onto the new Hackintosh? Chances are it will not work. You can do a clean install, and then transfer. In my experience I have found a clean install is normally the best and better option Have fun

Milanche78
Hello I'm building a hack based on GA-G41M-ES2L, rev 1.1 E6300 CPU, 2x2 gigs Kingston HyperX@1066 and Gigabyte GT220 graphic card. My question is, will there be a problem, since the GT220/240 cards are supported since SL 10.6.4 and I'm installing 10.6.0? One more thing, I was going to use the USB method, but since I do not have a Mac or Hack, what about the TransMac application http://www.asy.com/index.htm TransMac for Windows can open Macintosh format disk drives, flash drives, CD/DVD/Blu-ray media, high density diskettes, dmg and sparseimage files. Features:# Read and write Mac format disks, CD/DVD(DL)/Blu-ray media, high density floppies and disk image files (dmg and sparseimage). # Supports standard HFS (Mac OS Standard), HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) and HFSX (with case sensitive file names) volumes. # Access Mac volumes on boot drive (like Boot Camp). # Create, read and write Mac disk image files(dmg and sparseimage). # Compress and expand (convert to iso) dmg files. # Built in burner function to create Mac format CD, DVD(DL), and Blu-ray media. # Burn ISO and dmg files to CD/DVD/Blu-Ray. # Format disks for use on Mac. # Read Mac multisession and hybrid CDs. Can I use this or I have to look for smbd with the Mac/Hack? How to burn "kakewalk iso image" I've downloaded the zip file. Do I have to extract it? This is what I get ( I also get an error during extraction)

One more thing, I was going to use the USB method, but since I do not have a Mac or Hack, what about the TransMac application The GA-G41M-ES2L does not work with the CD method, you must use the USB method. Also, you will have problems with the 220/240 cards if using 10.6.0 retail dvd. You will need to get your hands on another video card to do the installation. wangerman
What you try? The Update or the Install with Kakewalk??? I am still waiting for the parts for my build to come but chose the GA EP43 board as I could not get the 45 due to being difficult to get now in the UK. I would be really interested to hear from you as you have nearly the same specs as I will. If you don't mind can you tell me what the install was like for you on your hadware Thanks a lot

Are you using the VGA port or the DVI port (assuming you don't have a card with 2 DVIports)? Does the com.apple.boot.plist have: <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> and what injector are you using for nVidia graphics? running 32 bit or 64 bit kernel?
