Kakewalk 4.0 is a joke.

You just pirated the myhack 2.0 beta which Conti published at IRC. Binairies are the same. How dare you collect Donations on your site with steeling the code from others. Just another copy of Tonymac who did this in the past.

Shame on you

Kakewalk? SRSLY?

Another piece of work RIPPED and STOLEN.

You sir are the Swedish version of tonmacfail{censored}!

When I find your IP or IRC nick you'll be banned.

You can pretend you've done all the work and maybe people will believe that foolishly.

Learn how to give credit to the people and projects whose works you have STOLEN in the way only for a profit.

Publish your "donation" amounts/history and put credit on your site...we are coming for you.

yeah maybe Kakewalk should mention the sources, thats true.

@Polishox, your threatening isnt nice either.

Oh these aren't threats. I will attempt always to reveal the truth and expose people for the frauds they are.

You don't have to like me or approve of my methods but remember eyes and ears everywhere.

He claims it as HIS WORK and none of it is original...he's just another tonymacfail{censored}.

I personally speak with virtually every mainstream and most of the underground developers.

NOTHING insults or bothers them more than people like this assclown stealing their ideas, methods, code, etc.

I speak for them and all truth when I can -- right is right and wrong is wrong.

We have your gmail address janek. That's just the start.

You're joking right?

I haven't claimed to be the author of every single component that makes Kakewalk.

The thing I try to do is to make it all accessible and easier to install. To be honest I don't earn much at all from donations and they don't even cover the costs that I have with my website.

So, what do I use in Kakewalk:

Chameleon

Multiple kexts (FakeSMC, JMicronATA, ALC8xxHDA, and a few more)

Granted I haven't given credit to the people that have made the mentioned software. And really I should have.

The rest is my own doing. I've spent the past two weeks coding Kakewalk 4 in python and making sure that everything works.

You're the joke here Janek.

In your first post you claim "...my work..." then when called out publicly you admit not giving credit.

After this, you come here admitting it's mostly not your work and admit failing to give credit?

Good step in the right direction but how about actually DOING SOMETHING BOUT IT?

Put NAMES on your SITE -- IN YOUR SOURCE -- IN THE INSTALLER PYTHON APP ITSELF!

FFS don't pretend ANY donations you receive are yours...they belong to the community who really doesn't even want them!

Don't just claim you made a mistake and then pretend I will go away.

Without the other people's work your project never exists.

Leaving their names out certainly IMPLIES this was all your work.

Then, your kakewalk release dates coincide with nawcoms update to contis myhack and contis new myhack beta.

Looks suspicious. There are also some pretty terribad flaws in your coding and project -- it has limited scope.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself you dirty swede.

Nope, I'm afraid you're full of it

I've spent the past two weeks coding it in Python.

It's just coincidence that we have similiar solutions to the problem. The binaries don't even compare.

Also, Kakewalk has been out for quite a while. This is not the first release. See the date of the first post.

I'm afraid that you're the one making a fool of yourself with your threats and such. But, you probably don't realize that.

No, my release coincides with Lion as it's a major release and I've obviously been preparing for it.

Sure, I'll give credit where it's due.

Credits posted on the download page @ kakewalk.se.

Credits.txt will now also be supplied with every Kakewalk download.

I appreciate all the hard work and the time that people of this community has spent on developing software like the Chameleon bootloader. Without them, Kakewalk would not be possible. I'm sorry if it came across as if I invented all of the software used in Kakewalk. That was not the intention at all.

This is a better attitude. It's nice to see someone responding in a positive manner and allowing TRUTH to prevail.

I commend you for at least being honest and working to fix your mistakes.

Perhaps in the future you could join us on irc and work on projects together instead of drive wedges between us?

Sure, I would be happy to help out. I'm all for making it easier for the users to install OS X.

Which IRC channel and server? irc.osx86.hu?

After using Kakewalk successfully on my GA-P35C, I had to replace the motherboard with a GA-P43T-ES3G. I did this to continue using my CPU.

When I attempt to boot up with Chameleon, I cannot interact with the screen with my keyboard or mouse. What can I do to resolve this? I had the same experience using a Hackboot CD created by a user of my motherboard.

There have been initial boot problems when more than 4 GB RAM is installed. I have 8 GB installed and it is DD3 rather than DD2 which was on the previous mobo.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Okay, I'm pulling my hair out. I've spent the last couple of days trying to revive my hackintosh. Here's the deal:

I was running 10.6.7, tried to see if I could upgrade to 10.6.8, got a kernel panic and decided to try to roll back.

Got 10.6 running but the mouse didn't work

Tried to restore from my Time Machine back to 10.6.7 and got the boot0: error

Formatted my drive and did a clean install with the latest release of Kakewalk for Snow Leopard.

Now I still can't get it running. If I try to boot directly from my HDD I get the "Verifying DMI Pool Data" hang. If I try to boot it from my thumb drive I get "can't find kake_kernel." I tried to run the terminal to make sure my partition was active and that didn't help either.

If I run the OSX install and tell it to boot from my HDD when I restart I am able to get into OSX, however my USB devices aren't recognized. I could use my ilok working so I can run Protools.

I don't know what the problem is as I have never had any problems using kakewalk until now. I've tried searching the internet and haven't had much luck.

My computer:

gigabyte X58A-UD7 F7 mobo

i7 920

nvidia GTX9800+

3 2gig ocz ddr3 ram (optimized for i5's and i7's)

ANY suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Will this work on GA-EX58-EXTREME, 12GB Ram, and geforce 275 in sli ? Or should I remove excess ram and the bridge for sli or can leave in place ?

I am running two hard disks one is dedicated to windows 7 and second to osx...will installing this give me option for dual boot or do I have to specify this in win7 boot.ini manually ?

If I can get this kakewalk to work expect a dontation soon!

Far by the best app for installing Lion, forget xmove and blah blah {censored} Ive tried them all, this is the daddy, I click 4 buttons and it was installed.

Only thing is that was missing is that in the instruction pdf that you need to be connected to the net, could of been more clear, took me a while to find that out by reading the txt files.

Thank god I found this, I hate all that geeky {censored} type this do that kext this, this was a gift from god and the way Mac themselves would design an installer, something that just works !

thanks so much, I luv ya kakewalk !

Thank you to Kakewalk :-)

I have installed Lion, with Kakewalk 4.0 and works perfectly.

Motherboards

G41M-ES2L

GA-EP43-UD3L <- I select GA-EP45-UD3L for installation, and no problem with install. This worked by Snow Leopard too.

@Mr. Janek

You can add the GA-EP43UD3L to the list in Kakewalk???

So I'm not sure if anyone saw my previous post, but I am still stuck and could REALLY use some help. After I got the boot errors and hangs, I tried to install using Kakewalk 2.2 instead of 3.1. This is what I originally used. I got everything up and running, restored my computer and all was well. I had it at 10.6.6. My computer was fine the last few days, shut it down earlier today and when I restarted I got the kernel panic again. I was getting the same message when I tried to boot from my USB "can't find kake_kernel" again. I formatted my usb stick and installed kakewalk YET again and now I can't even get it to recognize my usb stick. It hangs at "verifying DMI pool data."

I don't want to upgrade to Lion just yet since I need to have Protools available and working. I've been using a hackintosh for well over a year, and have had ZERO problems with Kakewalk until now. Is it my harddrive? Is something else fried? I'm thinking of trying another method if I can't get this to work. What I don't understand is why I was able to use my computer for a few days just fine and it randomly kernel panicked? I didn't install anything new. All I did was shut it down >_>

Again, I'm using the gigabyte X58A-UD7, the i7 920, a 9800GTX+ Nvidia card, and 6 gigs of ram. Would REALLY appreciate help please.

  • 2 weeks later...

I still have the "can't find kake_kernel" problem.

Apologies in advance as my knowledge of Terminal is not so great. Can some post the idiots guide to copying the kernel from the thumd drive to the installation drive? The final installation of kakewalk.pkg doesn't seem to do this, so I'm guessing I need to do this manually.

Many thanks

MC

Hey everyone and mrjanek!

I wanted to install OS X on my Desktop using Kakewalk, but I can't install it, because I never reach the installer screen.

The machine freezes everytime at the gray apple logo screen with the spinning wheel. It just tells me to turn off the machine. And when I try to enter some startup options at the kakewalk bootscreen it just freezes, too.

I don't know what to do, because I did everything just like in the Guide which is provided with the kakewalk download.

My PC Hardware is listed in my signature.

Hopefullly somebody has a solution for me.

Thanks in advance!

BTW: I use Kakewalk 3.1

  • 2 weeks later...

hi, im going to give this method a go as it looks like the most straightforward, im going to be using snow leopard 10.6 as it's the most stable for producing music, i can probably go to 10.7.

my question is with this version of snow leopard installed on this motherboard Gigabyte X58A-UD3R will it be capable of running the i7 processor with ssd hard drives.
