First I would like to thank Mrjanek for all his hard work with Kakewalk. I have successfully installed Snowleopard on my EP45-UD3P board. Hab no problems at all everything worked on first install.

I am trying to install snowleopard on my G41M-ES2L Board. I am having the same problem that some are having with changing the settings in the bios. There doesn't seem to be any settings to change SATA RAID to AHCI in the bios. Can anyone help me out? Am I just missing this setting or maybe i have to update my bios? Thanks in advance.

Thanks very much!!! This fix totally worked for me on my EP45-UD3L, got sound working after the 10.6.3 update.

I've attached it to this post here so others don't have to go through rapidshare.

Just drag the AppleHDA.kext onto the Kext Utility icon and let it do it's thing. Once it's done, reboot, and boom, you'll have sound again. The Tonymacx86 page's fix did NOT work for me, but this did.

This is an AMAZING install, incredibly easy. Thank you mrjanek for your work.

So far just one problem. I'm missing Digital Out/SPDIF option under Sound Output. I have an EP45-UD3R with the latest BIOS (f12). This is a fresh install of 10.6.0 via the CD method. System profiler lists "S/P-DIF Out: Connection: Combo". Oddly enough Digital In is listed under Sound Input.

Anybody know how to get Digital Out working on this board? It was working on a previous install of Leopard 10.5. Do I need an earlier BIOS or do I have to install some kexts or something?

Much thanks for any help.

Ack! Photoshop CS4 won't install due to the "case sensitive file system" format the Kakewalk instructions specify!!!!

Is this case sensitive formatting necessary for Kakewalk to work? Or does anyone know a workaround to get CS4 to install on such a file system? I know this is problem is completely due to Adobe's crappy coding...but is there a reason you specify case-sensitive?

Wasn't the case sensitive formatting mentioned only for your install disk? (USB or CD)?

I did not use case sensitive for the disk I installed to and everything works as it should.

I keep getting the "can't find boot mgr" upon boot-up. I've burned a couple copies using both imburn and poweriso, my burns are good but I have a RAID 0 array as my primary and win7 in on it.

I have followed the instructions to a T, I've broken my RAID via BIOS and set to ACHI and I've tried keeping the array and set to RAID.

Any input fellas?

woops my specs:

EP45-UD3R

Q9550 on liquid (although@stock speed for installation)

Newish Sammy SATA Optical drive (18x)

8GB G.Skill DDR2-1000 (@stock)

2x320GB @Intel onboard RAID + 1x640GB for cold storage

ATi 4890 1GB on water (@stock for installation)

hmm...

Hi stalker,

What do you mean? After upgrade 10.6.3 you lost HDMI connectivity from your graphic card?

After updating to 10.6.3 and connect the TV to video card via HDMI - I get a black screen on Monitor and the TV-set ...

What to do??

I'm not an expert but I would give it a try to QE CI Exotic cards 10.6.3.pkg

You can download it from http://netkas.org/?p=382

Tell us if this fix your problem.

PS: Which is your graphic card, stalker?

PS2: I suggest you to read the messages in that nektas page. In #30 chbm said "With 10.6.3 and Saphire HD4870 1Gb my DVI connected TFT stops being recognized. I don’t get video output and get a couple of

ERROR: VendorAccelerator::set_display_mode_and_vram

on the kernel.log

Reverting ATI4800, ATISupport and ATIFramebuffer to 10.6.2 fixed it."

PS3: And check this http://www.infinitemac.com/archive/index.php/t-4057.html

For the public record:

Just updated successfully to 10.6.3

Sound had to be switched from headphones to line-out on first boot, but otherwise seems to be a perfect fit.

Yeah, this is a known problem with CS4 and the case sensitive file system.

I think your only recourse is to back up your machine and start over with a fresh install of OS X but formatting with the "not" case sensitive format.

My sympathy for your bad luck with that.

This afternoon I'm about to buy the components to build the hackintosh tonight!!!!

So excited!!!

I already have the motherboard, but I'd like to know if anyone has had a problem with photoshop or any other software using the 9500gt.

Also I'll be using logic, and other audio apps with an external firewire sound card. Are there any known issues?

Btw I'm using the EX58 UD3R.

Thanks!

I'have the same mobo + gfx card combo and it worked oob using the usb method.

I'd try unplugging the LG optical, let us know if that helped getting to boot further.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up making things work by ditching usb and burning a bootloader to CD, installing retail, and patching stuff with osx86 tools, EFI studio and a bunch of other stuff. Only messed with it for one night so far but it seems to be working ok. Coming from a G4 an E3200 is a beast.

So did you just use the Kakewalk installer and get OOTB with MOBO and GFX? What about audio, sleep, shutdown/restart? Lan worked right OOTB with my setup.

One more thing. Everything says to partition the USB install drive as GUID but I was wondering if it could/should be MS-DOS and if thats why I couldn't boot with it?

I'm having a problem with the resolution when the computer is booting up

Actual OSX works just fine but when it boots up the image is smaller than the screen by a few pixels

i noticed when clicking video info there was no 1920x1080 resolution (my native resolution)

what's the best workaround for this?
