Hi there.

 

I have recently installed Snow Leo through Kakewalk 2.0 on this Gigabyte X58A-UD7 mobo.

It's absolutely fantastic how well it works flawlessly.

 

But I have problem here.

 

I urgently need to have 3 monitor displays working at a time. I tried 2 monitors with the single 9600GT 1GB DDR3 DVI-DVI graphics card and it worked OK for me.

 

Then I purchased an identical-exactly the same- graphics card too. The problem is;

 

system crashes after apple logo screen with a kernel panic.

 

Since then I became a forum guru. But I couldn't have managed to get rid of that post-apple screen kernel panic with two card installed at the same time (by the way when I unplug one of the VGA cards, it normally boots successfully as if nothing ever happened).

 

I tried many ways (NVInject, a dual graphics card kext in kexts.com so on..) explained here or other forums but the same result. Especially the one in here:

Maybe I did something wrong. Especially in DSDT patching 'cos I'm not an expert on these matters.

 

Is there a way to enable 2 seperate cards & succesfully maintain at least 3 monitors in Kakewalk-ed Snow Leo 64Bit?

hi all !

 

I installed with the latest Kakewalk ISO for Gigabyte P45-UD3P on Gigabyte P45-DS3P. Everything works great out of the box !!! But sadly there is no Firewire working from the Onboard TI FW on P45-DS3P. No Firewire is found in the "About this Mac" Menue.

 

Do I need a special Kext for this ?? Who can give me some support please ???

I have the exact same motherboard and I have 4 monitors working with two identical card (9800GT's) so it should be possible for you too.

You can however use any other machine to generate the hex it does not have to be the machine in which the cards are installed as long as the other machine is running normal Leo.

I have generated my hex.out on a old iDeneb install so it is possible.

Too bad I don't run Windows either then, but that's not really the problem. My problem seems to be that I can't find KakewalkLegacy.iso anywhere at all.

I'm running Gigabyte's EX58-UD5 and I'm having issues with audio through-put. I have audio going into the line in port and line in is showing sound levels (System Preferences>Sound>Input). However, when I go to Utilities>Audio Midi Setup to set the Built-in Line Input, I am unable to check the "Thru" box that will allow sound to pass through.

 

Is this an error on my part, or would this be considered a bug in Kakewalk?

just wondering if you could help me out on couple issues, im about to purchase a computer specifically for osx, i will be getting a core i3 and a h55 or h57 motherboard to save costs on buying a gpu but dont know wether there is a kext/driver for this chipset, ive seen success with the h55 chipset but using a discrete gpu, is there a way to use the igp on these new clarkdale processors, or do i have to go with buying a gpu, im not worried about 3D performance but do want all the eye candy enabled within osx, this box will be more for internet access and downloading.

 

the board i want to buy is an Asus P7H55-M PRO

 

any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

Anyone encounter the problem where their SATA-DVD-RW drive does not read discs on boot and thus cannot install via the CD method?

 

Do I need to install an IDE CD drive to get it to work?

I've been using my SL install happily for awhile now, but there is one thing that seems to happen every now and then with the Finder text and icons. Sometimes the text in the menu options for the finder look corrupted, basically I dont see any text, just black blocks or other strange characters. Anyone know why this is happening and/or fix?

I just got the EP45-UD3L w/ a Q8300. I've booted from the Kakewalk bootcd (used the legacy iso) but it won't do anything when I put in the SL DVD and press F5. I just don't get any options and it sits at that menu. Any ideas?

Having an issue with my video card not displaying correct resolution with the dvi cable.

Seems like the card thinks its a tv-display panel with the options for display. 480p/640p/1080p options.

The card is working fine with an dvi to vga adapter (although has some artifacts in finder menu).

 

Ive read forum post on fixes but attempted them with no solution.

 

Attempted the following:

OsX86tools method with adding string.

EFI studio methods.

Added strings in both extras/com.apple.plist and main system com.apple.plist.

injector kewts.

Pretty much all the kewts available for nvidia.

video enabler yes and no.

Changed bios settings as well.

 

I've tried all of these individually and combinations. Attempted in OSX 10.6 and 10.6.2.

 

Only thing I haven't tried is the custom dsts.

 

Is there anyone who can assist me?

Well after many tries I think I finally got it working. Final combination that worked.

 

Use Kakewalk installation method with Cartri Mac Edition Gigabyte Bios.

The system actually seems faster with the new bios and no DSDT.aml file.

Quartz is working thru osx86tools. I had to add a string in com.apple.plist using efi studio

once I deleted DSDT.aml file. It appears the gtutil code changed once I added the new

bios.

 

The only thing is in the display properties it shows 1080p setting for both of my monitors.

But about this mac shows correct display properties and hz. Changing display properties

changes the about this mac as well. So I'm assuming the correct values are in about this

mac and everything seems to be working correctly.

 

Gigabyte ep45-ud3l (cartri bios)

pny 9800 gt 1gig dual dvi

 

Fixed

everything works perfect, but always there is a "but".

 

My microfon (line in) doesnt work. I get no peak, when I speak in my headset. No one hears me on vent, Ts2 or Ts3.

 

Had someone similar issues? Any help appreciated!

2)My current setup is 2x320GB in RAID 0 with 1x640GB for swap/storage. Currently is running Windows 7 on the RAID array, which I don't mind wiping but will my RAID array work with install?

 

Rest of my hardware is fully compatible.

Unfortunately, the sound will not work over HDMI, as there is currently no support in OS X. You should use the SP-DIF instead.
