mwpmo
I've just uploaded a new version of Kakewalk. It should resolve the issues with G41M-ES2L (hopefully) Just downloaded and tried. Same error for me. FYI, I reseted the BIOS and use the system default, casue I tried different option on storage port and it just affect whether the device was detected or not. The same error. Bustard
Maybe you can try the bootdisk for X58A-UD7.X58A-UD5 & X58A-UD7 are quite similar with each other. Within an hour you will know the answer. --- FYI, I used bootdisk for EX58-UD5 for my EX58-UD4P and it works! perfex, try out this

everdone
Experience with P55M-UD2: I tried Kakewalk USB method on this board, would not boot. Selecting the USB drive to boot resulted in an almost immediate reboot. (V2 gives the same results) I finally booted using a CD from BootCDMaker where I used the Extra folder from Tonymacx86's bootCD. I completed the install of OSX from the USB image I made for Kakewalk. Did not install the UD2 package. I used DigitalDreamers Script to do all the housekeeping for the install. What I discovered was that Kakewalk will probably work if your Retail DVD is 10.6.2. Apple apparently did not support the Lynnfield processor prior to 10.6.2. If your Retail DVD is 10.6.0 (like mine) to boot and load the OS one needs a bootloader with a modified Kernel and use the boot flag - busratio=20 - until one updates the OS to 10.6.2. After the update you can use the vanilla kernel and do not need the busratio flag.

glogulus
Thank you mrjanek!! Everything except the sata dvd player worked flawlessly! If you haven't donated anything to him you should, he deserves it! MB: GA-X58A-UD7 Memory: 6GB CPU: 2.8ghz quad Can someone recommend a good sata dvd writer that will work with osx? It appears to not like my ASUS sata dvdrw at all. It sees it can't seem to use it. Also, will the stock mac keyboard and mouse work okay?
sirenoremac
Still no joy on my P55M-GD45. I burned the cd using a real mac, because the app still wont run on my AMD Leopard system. My i5 system booted off the kakewalk cd (only with RAID set to IDE, it had a checksum error in AHCI mode), then the SL DVD would load for about five minutes before the system rebooted. Tried with -x, and busratio=20 (just saw it in another post, no clue what its supposed to do). Any more ideas? My BIOS does not have a 64 bit HPET option, the only options are HPET Enabled or HPET Disabled. Appreciate any help.
gg123
Kakewalk installed fine for me. Got to the setup/registration. However, I'm having a problem with my mouse and keyboard. I move the mouse, wait a couple seconds, then the mouse pointer will move. For the keyboard, the only way it "works" is if I randomly type on it, and once every 5 seconds, it will take a key I hit 5 seconds previous, and type it 7 times. I've tried 2 different wireless usb Logitech mice and keyboards, and one wired usb no-name keyboard. I installed with the EX58-UD3R settings. I have the same problem with a Leopard hdd I pulled from a different system. I do not have this problem when using Win 7. I would start a new thread, but I don't have enough post to do so. My mb is an ASRock X58

soemo
I'm having great success with Kakewalk. My EX-58-UDR3 (wrong mobo, FML) is working well, but I can't seem to get analogue sound working. I have a digital device showing, but I don't have a digital receiver to test it. I've googled endlessly and only found dead links to kexts. Is there a definitive way to get the audio fully working on 10.6.2 with this motherboard? I think sleep is resetting too, but working in safe mode. ChemicalWeather
I installed kakewalk onto my USB drive and I have an MSI x58 Platinum, I selected the one MSI board in the installer thinking it would be similar as the platinum is a popular choice for hackintoshes (I had mine up and running perfectly for about 6 months until I got a kp and opted to reinstall). Anyway, it seemed to work fine booting up (no kp) and I got the snow leopard install screen which I figured meant I was good to go. However when i went to transfer the OS to the HDD in disk utility my 1TB SATA hard drive is not showing up. I know the hdd still working and like i said i've been using a hackintosh for a while so it's definitely compatible but it is just not showing up in disk utility. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. mike366
mrjanek, any thoughts, I am not giving up on this sleep issue :-) EP45-UD3P, 9500GT OK, this sleep issue is annoying, can anyone please comment on a viable solution. The computer either panics when it awakes from sleep, as soon as I do something, like open another program, or the screen just stays black. In either case, I must re-boot. There is no other recovery option. Someone must have figured this issue out? I am not sure it matters, but I am using a EP45-UD3P board. Thanks in advance. mikedddd
How come. is there any way? Its a laptop. This guide works for desktops. you have the wrong CPU and motherboard. Even if you could somehow get it to start, your DSDT would be completely different. Nothing would work. Nothing in your laptop is compatible with this guide. Nothing. Well, maybe the shift key on your keyboard, but only if its USB instead of PS2.
