mrjanek
HELP on G41M-ES2L (PCB v1.1) (F6) !!!! Anyone can share their experience on this board? I try to install SL on my friend's G41M-ES2L using Kakewalk CD. But after I try to boot SL install CD, I got the famous "5 language" error message. I try different BIOS setting , especially on the storage setting, it's just the same error. Is it the problem on AHCI mode? Cause I can't find any BIOS setting about AHCI. In BIOS, all SATA devices were detected as "IDE Device"!! Which SATA port should I connect the HDD and which port should I connect the DVD-ROM? Try plugging out every IDE device during the installation. Also try booting in verbose mode and post the output here.

Thanks for your support and work ! a few questions: - what is changed in the AsereBLN Booter ? - in which motherboards the IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext is removed and why ? - can you please write the versionnumber in your installpackage ? - should I upgrade the bootloader for my mother board? mrjanek
- what is changed in the AsereBLN Booter ? Update Version 1.1.9: Added nVidia ION device lookup. Added a feature to set/override the nVidia NVCAP value using NVCAP_ key in com.apple.Boot.plist. - in which motherboards the IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext is removed and why ? EX58-UD5, EX58A-UD7 EX58-UD3R. They are no longer necessary. - can you please write the versionnumber in your installpackage ? No, I'm afraid I can't. It's complicated. - should I upgrade the bootloader for my mother board? No need actually.
MHW
Kakewalk will work on a GA-X58A-UD5, right? Or do I need to send my motherboard back and get another?

juniorspades
Mr. Janek - Any possibility of adding anymore Gigabyte P55 boards? I have a GA-P55A-UD4P and really liked your install method on my first board. Just wanted to know what you think....
strukt
Download the booloader package from the first post and install it to your SL partition. I did as you asked, downloaded the bootloader package. Pointed it to my boot (SSD) drive. It installed ok with that green checkmark at the end. However when I press the restart button it gives me an KP. Ok, so I manually restart and it seems to work fine anyway. Seems like the disk performance is better too, I will try it out for a while. And again, thank you for providing this for us! Everyone that get a working system up and running should donate in my opinion.
ridgeline
Just a quick note on the G41M-ES2L board. I also tried it with no success I dont think the HDA controller hang is where the problem is I went into the bios and disabled the Azalia Codec under integrated perf. and received a KP about the AHCI. I am using a IDE DVD drive with a SATA HDD though so I disabled the Sata/AHCI as I dont have an option to just set it to either RAID or AHCI, At this point I received a Powermanagement KP. Just to give you and update. I installed with Empire EFI/RetailDisc/MyHack installer which loads Chameleon. I also tried just moving your DSDT file into place of the one I created and I got a KP there as well. This was done after the install mentioned above however I am not sure what caused that KP
Swhay
mrjanek, Thank you for a great guild and tools. I have my GA-EX58-UD5 running perfectly. I would like to give you some files for the GA-EX58-UD5 that will enable vanilla power management so that there will be no need for any extra kexts except for fakesmc.kext and RealtekR1000SL.kext. I thought you might like to update the installer for this Motherboard to make it even easier and a cleaner install. I don't take any credit for the DSDT mods, for that please see d00d's topic ... GA-EX58 and GA-X58A DSDT native power management modifications, lower CPU temperatures, turbo plus one clock ratio, sleep, etcetera The attached file contains my Extra folder with the modified DSDT from d00d's topic. This DSDT will provide the following for the GA-EX58-UD5 1. Native power management (Includes autosleep, wake with mouse or keyboard, sleep with power button, wake with Power Button, USB removal after wake fix) 2. Native audio (no need for any legacy audio kexts). 3. All internal hard drives will be seen as internal (no need for IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext) Extra.zip

mwpmo
Sorry for asking again, but can I make Kakewalk work on a GA-X58A-UD5 board? Maybe you can try the bootdisk for X58A-UD7. X58A-UD5 & X58A-UD7 are quite similar with each other. Within an hour you will know the answer. --- FYI, I used bootdisk for EX58-UD5 for my EX58-UD4P and it works!
