Hi to all :D

I've been tring to install mac os for long time, and with a few different verions like aitkos, leo4all and jos but non of those worked for me :/

probably, reason for that is my config.

and here it is:

Motherboard: Asus P5NSLI

Processor: Intel Pentium D 3.4Ghz (single core but simulates duo core)

Graf. card: Asus Radeon X1300

Ram Memory: 3.5Gb ddr2

My question is will this Kakewalk work on my mashine?

If not, maybe someone could point me to topic with answer for me!

Thanks.

First, thank you for putting this all together. Install went flawless! There are only 3 issues I had to address:

1) Install voodoopowermini as my comp was running way too hot.

2) Voodoomonitor shows my voltage as incorrect and only cores 3,4 have the correct listed multiplier. I'm guessing this is just a DSDT fix thing? So either my voodoomonitor is off or SL changes my bios settings once it boots up.

3) Both voodoomonitor and istat show cores (1,2) to be 3-5c warmer than cores (3,4). Which could be any number of things not SL related.

screenshot20100218at700.png

my correct multiplier is x10 and my correct voltage is 1.26v. This is a snap shot of idle, when under load the multiplier goes up to 10x on 0,1. However the voltage never seems to change.

Everything else has been perfect!

Kakewalk is really great!

Everything works except, only one of my pci slots is working.

when i put my wlan pci card in one slot it works, when i put it in the other one it doesn't....

Same with my audigy 2 zs, works in 1 slot but not in the other one!

Any ideas what the problem could be?

thx

I can't seem to get Snow Leopard working on my system. Is it required that I have no OS's installed prior to using Kakewalk? So here's what I did and what I keep getting.

1) I put the Kakewalk disc in and it tells me to insert my snow leopard disc and press F5.

2) I place the snow leopard disc and press F5 and it starts loading the installer.

3) I wait and a no symbol pops up on top of the apple logo and it doesn't do anything after that.

I tried just leaving the machine on and it just stays at that screen and nothing else. I am using a legitimate Mac OS X Snow Leopard disc. Do I need to do anything to my bios settings prior to using kakewalk? I've tried other methods which required me to turn on AHCI and my system just hangs at "Verifying DMI Pool" and I end up having to reset my cmos to get it to boot up properly again.

PLEASE I Got the same Video Card just 512 MB DDR3 (ZOTAC ECO 2 DVI and S video), but same chipset. I cant make it work in 10.6.2 (freezes desktop and pointer as I connect 2nd monitor) , but work flawless in 10.6.0

If you have had succes on dual display via dvi or HDMI in 10.6.2 can you explain the method?

ALSO the most easy way to get OSX on Gigabyte Motherboards, My success on

GA EX 58 UD5 Bios f7.

Intel core i7 920 @ 3,33 GHz.

Solid as a rock on 10.6.0, and evetything I checked by now is working. Just testing audio, FW, and USB and Graphics are OK next week I will test PCIS and ETHERNET.

I will Post my results. THANKS.

Your 889A won't work because despite the name of the models being almost identical, they don't share the same chip. Ep45-DS3R has ALC889A but EP456-DS3L has ALC888. I had partial success with my board which comes with an ALC889A also, by choosing EP45-UD3P upon installation (same sound chip). I had sound and video, but my install is unstable and I will retry.

Hey it worked! Thanks for the suggestion insaneleft! I have sound now!

MrJanek If you could somehow combine the EP45-DS3L with the Audio portion of the EP45-UD3P I think you could "officially" have the EP45-UD3R supported? I can do testing for you.

Things left to cross out:

ALC889A

ATI x1950 Pro (Snow 64-bit)

Logitech QuickCam Orbit/Sphere

PS2 Keyboard

I had much better luck with 2 hard drives, install a quick and dirty install to 1 of the hard drives, using that install, follow the procedure to resotre the snow leopard install DVD to a 8GB memory stick, then follow the instructions and run/apply kakewalk to the memory stick, now use the memory stick like a DVD install would work (put your SL retail away). The instructions here are pretty simple. I'm not sure about the CD version of the install, but Im pretty sure that no matter which way you go, you have to have a minimal install of OSX running from your machine or use a real mac as a host to make the installer.

hi

it was great for me 2,

i had similar problems with pci 1 card, 2 cards, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't,

reading around i think it's 32 bit or 64 driver issue.

i think snow leo wants pci x cards 64 bit someting??? only a guess.

I just did an install on a GA-EP45-UD3L w/ 9500GT... so easy!! The only issue I had was that when I chose the video resolution, the screen turns blue, and I have to manually restart the computer. However, the correct resolution is selected after the reboot.

The only other thing I'm not crazy about is the higher than average CPU temperatures. I would much rather have low cpu temperatures than sleep functionality, if it's one or the other. I take it all I need to do is locate "NullCPUPowerManagement.kext" and put it in "/Extra/Extensions/"?

Thanks for the great installer & guide!

I have all the right specs but I wonder if the built in ATi audio over HDMI works (have 4890)?

Also I have a RAID 0 setup (2x320GB) partitioned into 2, 1 for windows os installation and 1 for apps/games, and another 640GB drive partitioned for storage and swap

So thats a total of 3 drives with 4 partitions

2x320GB RAID 0 w\2 partitions

1x640GB w\2 partitions

Should I just make a 3rd partition on my RAID 0 array for the kakewalk install?

Cheers

You can have both, low CPU temperatures and sleep functionality. You just have to be carefull with updates.

First update your SL to 10.6.2. Then go to this page http://www.kexts.com/cat/3-miscellaneous.html and search for NULLCPUPowerManagement.kext and SleepEnabler.kext for kernel 10.2.0 (10.6.2). It has to be for 10.6.2 unless you'll get a KP. Put them in /Extra/Extensions , reboot and all should work fine. When 10.6.3 comes we'll have to delete those kexts and wait for new ones, I guess :/

So I have had a couple of problems using Kakewalk, want to see if I can get some help. First, I can't get the CD installer package to run (under 10.5.8 on an AMD system). Everytime I try to launch it, it crashes. Second, when I try the USB method, the bootloader works, but then the system reboots. No KP screen, just a sudden reboot. The same happens when I try using the legacy iso with a retail DVD, just after the DVD starts loading, the reboot occurs. I'd love to try the normal CD method, but the installer simply wont run. I'm going to try using the CD builder package on a real mac and give it a go that way, but I'm really curious as to why the installer package wont run on my system.

System:

MSI P55M-GD45

2x2GB Patriot DDR3 1600

ATI Radeon XT1950 Pro 512

SATA HDD

Core i5 750

I also have a mac-flashed Radeon HD4870 that works in my AMD Leopard machine and real mac pro's but I want to get the system up and running before tackling that beast. Any suggestions on that front would also be appreciated.

So what do people think? For the USB method, I'm using a 30GB USB HDD, could that be causing issues? The SL image I'm using is build 10A432, and the retail DVD is from launch day. Are these out of date for the i5 or something? Please help, I'm happy to put in the work to figure it out, just a little lost right now.

Looking into this. There's a big chance that there's something wrong with the supplied files for P55M-GD45. I'll report back soon.

EDIT: I've just uploaded fixed versions of the packages and you should now be able to install SL with any of those (KakewalkCD, KakewalkUSB) You'll find download links at puru.se

Need some help here if possible

Working on a new build with a P55A-UD4P Motherboard. i7 860 and a 7950GX2 graphics card.

I noticed that the motherboard on Gigabytes website is not too different from the Gigabyte P55M-UD2.

Anyone know if the Kakewalk will work on this build?
