Hi Guys! About the bios of my EP45-UD3lr, in the step 3 point 9 of the guide I don't have exactly "SATA RAID/AHCI Mode" but I have only as similar ICH SATA Control Mode (that has inside IDE, RAID(XHD) AHCI), is it the same? Have I to select here AHCI? Sorry but I'm not so expert...thanks for all

Ciao

Yes, that's the one. Set it to AHCI.

Terry,

Windows needs to be on a MBR partition map (which is drive wide, not partition wide) and OS X needs a GUID partition map. So you can't put both on one drive. Good thing drives are cheap these days! :-D

John

Two of my Hackintosh computers have the hard drive formatted as MBR with three partitions on one drive: #1 HFS+ Journaled with Leopard, #2 NTSF with Windows XP Professional, #3 FAT 32. At boot up, I get a menu to choose which operating system to boot the computer. It works very well.

VERY IMPRESSIVE ;), Installing is a breeze with this.. I hope to see support for more motherboards.. but wow its awesome, I just boot from USB and into installer quick..

How did you get the ati Radeon graphics board to work? I cannot get my HD 4850 to work.

Hello! Quick question... I haven't read through all the pages in this thread, so I apologize if this has already been discussed.

This is my system:

Gigabyte EP45-UD3P

Intel Core 2 Quad 3GHz

8GB Patriot RAM

EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB vRAM

Mac OSX 10.6 retail, updated to 10.6.2

Everything works fine for me, but I've found that if I try to turn on the computer while an external 1TB USB drive is connected, OSX won't boot up. It will show me the BIOS startup screens, and then get stuck in a black screen with a white slash on the top left.

This only happens when the external drive is connected at startup. If it's unplugged, OSX boots up fine, and everything runs smoothly. I can then connect the USB drive, and it too works great.

Is there any way to fix this so I don't have to unplug all my external USB drives before turning on the computer?

Thanks in advance! :)

Go to the BIOS and click on Startup Drive and set it to the hard drive that has Leopard installed. You will probably find that a USB device is selected as the Startup, and that is why you are having the problem.

Was your 9800 GTX recognized out of the box using mrjanek's method?

Hello guys,

I have recently built a Ga-ex58-ud i7920 system with 4850 ati card, I have followed all the power management settings to a T.. But I keep having issues with sleep I can restart and shutdown fine but am able to put it in sleep but not wake it. When I try to take it up all it does is boot up to a black screen with lines running across it. Any ideas on what else I can try? I just installed the newest boot loader. Thank you for everyones help!

Donation made... thanks again.

In the future I would appreciate seeing an installer for GA-X58A-UD3R and with good support for ATI HD 4850. Thanks again!

Thanks a lot :)

I'm working on a solution for the ATI 4xxx series and it should be done quite soon.

Hio:

I try to install on a EP45 UD3LR, intel 6750, 4Gb Kingston, 8600GT and 320 Gb HDD.

It's amazing!!! I don't have any problem and the SL runs flawless.

I have only a little problem:

I can't awake from sleep clicking the mouse. The only way is pressing the power swicth. Then awake without problems.

Thanks

Check your BIOS setting. I think there is an option "wake with keyboard, mouse", but I'm not sure.

I am having a little trouble installing on a P55m-UD2

I tried the USB and the CD method. When I boot it from the CD or USB, the darwin boot loader comes on, starts to load, Then I get a white screen for a second and the system reboots.

My specs are

Core i5-750

Gigabyte P55m-Ud2

4gb ddr3 ram

BFG GTS 250 1gb

Thanks!

I have very similar problems.

I used the USB method strictly according to the guide.

The Darwin bootloader comes up and then within seconds the machine reboots while trying to boot Snow Leopard Install.

I tried the verbose and safe install mode but all the same.

The reboot comes so fast that I cannot even read what is written on the screen during verbose mode.

My specs are:

Gigabyte p55m-UD2

Core i5-750

4GB DDR3 1333

Gigabyte CUDA 9800GT 1GB

Seagate 1TB 7200 SATA

LG DVD-RW SATA

Anybody any idea why the system reboots while trying to boot SL install?

Cheers,

Hi. Finally i find the solution. I put awake with mouse from bios. But the system no awake.

I have an aluminium apple keyboard and the mouse connected to it. If i connect the mouse in a usb port from the motherboard, the system awake perfect....

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Edit: Thanks armacell!!!

same here, USB events behind a hub are not always recognised. I had to try a few combinations, mouse and keyboard off the same hub seemed to work but off my monitor USB hub didn't, I think it's just going to be a matter of getting a USB extension cable if it doesn't work!
