JGKC9AYC
In Ubuntu, there's a "menu.lst" for the bootloader that one can modify. Is there such a thing for this as well? I'm still trying to figure out how to clean up my boot choices when I push a key to get my boot options. Thanks.
antipop2323
Run in terminal: sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext This will solve the mouselag issue. Only run this if you have a Nvidia 8xxx card. i was using an 8800gt and removed this file, renaming it and putting it in another folder... anyways i upgraded to a 260 gtx and tried renaming it back and putting it in my extensions files.... and shortly there after got a pop up saying that the kext wasn't installed properly or something... also got an error when installing newest versions of itunes today which mentioned the kext, though it finished installing itunes and seems to work fine... out of curiosity, any ideas w/ getting it to work again? thx, antipop2323
trwoolley
i had this same problem. just go into sys prefs, then energy and make sure you check that start after power failure. i posted this a few pages back.. good luck I have noticed that in SL 10.6.2 my options are missing in the Energy Saver System Preferenes Pane! Not at all like Energy Saver with my PowerBook in Leopard. Below is a snapshot of my pane. What does your look like?
musictechie
Ok I've looked all over for a solution to this, so if it's buried in the 57 pages of this topic, I apologize for not seeing it. First of all, this SL install worked for me (after I removed a PCIe NIC), so much appreciation for that! My main goal for building a Hack (this being my second) is to use it for Final Cut Studio. My specs: EP45-UD3R C2Q 9400 4GB OCZ Reaper 250GB Seagate HDD XFX 9800 GT 512MB My problem: I get a KP every time I try installing the base programs of Final Cut Studio. My best guess is that it has something to do with graphics kexts or something, but I have no clue. Hoping someone could help me out if they might have an idea. Any help is much appreciated. armacell
Dear mrjanek I was curious and today I installed your updated package (EP45-UD3LR). Before I was runing v1.0 . First thing I saw was increased CPU temperature, so I installed nullcpupowermanagement. Then sleep wasn't working and I had to add Sleepenabler. And now it's working like it used to. I know sleepenabler cause KP at 10.6.2 update, but you could write in your guide to add the right versions of kexts after the update and reduce the temperature of CPU. Anyway, you made life easier to a lot of people. Keep up the good work, you rock!
mrjanek
I'm thinking of adding support for motherboards not made by Gigabyte. MSI, ASUS and some other popular brands. The thing is, this whole project would need a different name. I'm not so good with names (hence the current uninspired name). So, anyone have any ideas of what it should be called?
