pjsallday
Tell us more about your system such as the graphics card and did it work right away, etc. UD7 motherboard 6x2gb corsair 1600mhz 2 x 64gb crucial ssd 1 for osx and the others for windows 7 originally had saphire ati 5850(flashed with msi bios to give an oc from 725mhz stock core to 1ghz stable) from that would not even boot so I had to switch to my other nvidia 8800 anyone know of a stable fix for the 58xx series let me know please! I was thinking of getting a 4850 and put a kvm switch for the dvi until a driver comes out i7 920 OC'ed to 4.1 stable custom watercooling hp multitouch monitor-- did not give any touchscreen functionality lg 8x bluray burner drive The initial install with the ati card was fruitless as I previously stated. Then I tried the cd install method and the install went fine but I did not get audio or ethernet. Then I did a fresh install with the usb method as I described above and it was flawless. I hope that answered your question. This is not my rig it is for a customer
Going Bald
Just to post I did get the UD7 version of this board working. The cd install did not work fully, I was able to install but no sound or ethernet. I took the recommendation of Going Bald and installed via usb. I did not create an image from the install cd and then transfer it to the thumb drive. I just dragged the install cd into the source restore for the thumb drive and then followed the directions as normal. Hope this helps the few with this bad a$ board out there. Way to go! For some reason using the install DVD as source to restore seems to work where creating an image and restoring the image seems to be hit or miss whether you get sound and/or ethernet ports working. Sound works great with a pair of Bose speakers.

zeigerpuppy
First of all, thanks so much for the great work on this install method, definitely one of the easier ones I have done. The only thing that I cannot get working on my UD7 board is LAN (audio not tested yet), full specs in sig. Any advice regarding the best way to get LAN working?? I have tried changing bios settings, disabled one LAN controller, turned on boot rom I used the boot CD install method. The LAN controller is 2x RTL8111D, not recognised at all by Snow Leopard. Thanks

If I use Carbon Copy Cloner to an external firewire hard drive, will it be necessary to use the GigabyteUSB flash stick to load the boot file and Extra folder? JGKC9AYC
I'm currently running Win7. My hardware is as follows: EX58-UD4P Core i7 920 (slightly overclocked) XFX Radeon 4870 6GB Patriot ram 2x640GB hdd's 1TB hdd 2xDVD-R/W I didn't see my particular motherboard listed, but didn't know if it'd still work or not. I'm transferring everything from one of my 640GB drives (currently being used for downloads, pictures, videos, etc.) to the 1TB drive. Then I was going to use the 640GB drive for the Snow Leopard drive. If it will work, how can I set up which HDD to boot from in case i'm in more of a mood for one than the other? Thanks! TypeM
Hello, I am a first time hackintosh user and I keep getting the following error message... system extension "/system/library/extensions/realtekR1000SL.kext" was installed improperly and can not be used. I assume that is why my sound is not working. Would you please point me to the thread where I can find out how to fix this issue? Thank you very much! iwcham1979
How did you install 4870? I also want to know whether i must install from scratch. now i have my spare ati 4550 while waiting for the 4870. I tried booting sl just to see what happens. System loads and i hear msn signing in, but no picture. When i try safe mode, no luck as well. The same thing will happen with the new ati as well. is there a way to remove previous nvidia driver or ?

Click on your apple icon then System Preferences then Sound and in the output tab select internal speakers. If that works then you may have to do the same after any SL update. zeigerpuppy
Managed to get ethernet running on UD7 following pjsallday's advice (USB method), thanks. However, audio is still not recognised. I'm wondering if I can just fix a kext rather than starting from scratch?
pjsallday
1. Your graphics card should work just fine. I haven't been able to try any ATI cards but your card should be autodetected by the bootloader. 2. I don't have any experience with this but it would probably work. After recovering you can use this package to install the PCEFI bootloader and the other necessary files. I can say that the 4670 does not work and the 5850 will work with graphicsenabler=no. Support for more ati would be great! Especially the 5850!
