Great to hear! Thanks a lot!

If you want to lower your temperature you have to add the kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext to your /Extra/Extensions folder. You'll find this file here.

I've just uploaded a new version of GigabyteOSX.

The changes affect only EP45-UD3P, EP45-UD3R and EX58-UD5 (missing component issue)

No need to update if you don't have any of those.

Changes:

v1.5.1 Beta
- Removed OpenHaltRestart.kext from EP45-UD3P package
- Removed "Resource" folders
- Solved the "Missing component" issue. Hopefully;)

Download links in the first post.

I have such NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in my /Extra/Extensions folder but iStats reports that my cpu is 45-50 C.

What could be wrong?

EX58-UD5

I've done with GigabyteUSB v1.3 or 1.4, I guess.

anything I can do to help in official support for the EP45-DS3R? If you read my post #6 here you can see I got it working with the help of your USB package but it's not really pretty. Seems like these EP45-DS3x boards are very similar.

mrjanek - Upload your /Extra folder and I'll see what I can do ;)

I was wondering, since I used your installer and basically cobbled together an install using the wrong USB package and only my Network is working (no audio, etc...) form the install, would that be bad? Would my extras folder really be of any help? :)

mrjanek,

Would this install work on a EP45-DS4P mobo? I heard that the mobo was simliar to a UD3R (correct me if I'm wrong).

Also what happens if you have an ATI card for example the ATI Radeon HD4870, I know that in Leopard when i did vanilla installs, my display would always {censored} out due to missing ATI kexts. How could I get it working?

Ah, ok!

Go to /System/Library/Extensions/ (of your SL partition)

Find the file RealtekR1000SL.kext and delete it. Reboot!

If that works please report back and I'll change this in the installer package.

Sorry about these problems. It's not that easy as I only have the EP45-UD3LR motherboard myself :)

OK, I'll try that as soon I get back to home!

Thank you for your reply! ;)

Thanks for help on this, mine works fine, even updates, much appriciated. Does anyone elses ram say a different speed? Mines supposed to be at 1066 but its only showing 800, I have set the MOBO to auto, and geekbench and xbench both show it clocked at 800mgz What are the bios settings to get it at 1066? thanks again

Thank you mrjanek for your efforts.

Another success story with a caveat: no screen resolution over 1440X900.

If I set it to 1680X1050 (maximum for my screen, AOC 2216SA), it just does not work. Nothing on the screen. Miraculously it comes to life after forcing the computer to sleep by power button. Now I set it to 1440X900 resolution and using without any problems.

Is there any simple solution to set it to 1680X1050 resolution?

Problem solved!

1- Put NVenabler64.kext to E/E

2- Run Kext utility

3-Restart

Done!

maybe this works:

- start EFI Studio

- choose Display and than your Grafik Adapter (Nvidoa Geforce 9800 GT (G92)1024 mb

- click Add Device

- in the Editor Window click on "write to com.apple.Boot.plist"

- restart

should work- without any warranty

Thanks for the suggestion, although i did try and it DOES NOT work. Gives me grey restart power option. Do i remove the AppleIntelPowerManagement.kext now?

What procedure should one follow on an already installed EP45-UD3P to implement these changes? I've already updated via standard Apple method to 10.6.2.

Thanks,

Click the link "Download Bootloader" in the first post. Your computer will then download GigabyteBoot.zip.

Unzip it and run GigabyteBoot, select your motherboard and install. Reboot your computer.

OK, finaly at home now!

And I didn't find any Realtek file in this folder.

So I did install that kext and it now appears in the folder you mentioned, both network controllers were detected! ^_^

I think the fact I received the error message ("missing component") means that the network kext wasn't even installed, because it was "missing"...

And now the internet works perfectly, I did download a Linux image CD (700MB) from an university server near my town in less than 2 minutes! It downloaded and mounted the image without crashes, perfect!

For your reference, the v1.5 gigabyteUSB didn't make SL detect the HD attached to the JMicron SATA port, which the v1.4 did detect, even having the same "missing component" problem.

I saw that you updated the gigabyteUSB to fix those problems, I'll give it a shot and report back! :(

Thank you!

hi - real quick question. since i don't have OSX yet, i can't read the guide to install but,

using the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3L , do i have make any changes in the BIOS? or do i just boot to DVD, and install? because for old projects you'd have to change AHCI settings [or w/e].

Thanks

You have to change the bios settings. There are not many, mainly ahci, sleep, and boot order thats all.

ok so i downloaded the newest package, before i was using the UD3LR since there was none for UD3L, updated it, now my ram is running and showing at 1066 in About this mac and Geekbench. THanks billion.

Is there a post stating which options? since i dont have OSX installed on any PC, i can't see the guide :[

Both GigabyteCD and GigabyteUSB are bundled with the guide. It has everything you need to know about installing SL on your PC.
