Everything works fine on my primary system but yesterday shutdown stopped working :/ thats strange.

 

On my other disk where I installed test system (snow 10.6.2) shutdown works with the latest Scrax dsdt file.

On both systems I'm using official Chameleon RC4 with fakesmc, LegacyAppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver, LegacyHDAPlatformDriver and OSXRestart kexts installed in E/E.

 

I have to investigate

LegacyHDAHardwareConfigDriver is probably not needed, try without to se if audio still works.

Also with the recursor patched RC4 (or the "not yet released" RC5) you can avoid also OSXRestart

 

I'm using now (all kext in S/L/E)

 

for system boot and no KP error etc.

/Extra/dsdt.aml (based on the one for P5K Pro by MasterChief with a lot of mods for P5K)

/Extra/smbios.plist (with MacPro3,1 as model ID other code is not important)

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist (just for 32bit boot and nothing more)

/S/L/E/fakesmc.kext

 

for correct jmicron identification (Pata and Sata)

/S/L/E/JMicronATA.kext (the one in the previous topic that i've modified)

 

for audio (there is something also in dsdt related to this)

/S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext (slimmed by MasterChief and completed with LegacyHDAPlatformDriver code)

 

for AttansicL1Ethernet (need to reload the kext after sleep)

I'm on it, at a first look there is something wrong inthe sata section of the dsdt

CPU-X is not reliable, try i-mark.

For ATI card I don't have any experience and so I can't help the only thing I could think is an EFI string generated by OSXtools but if it's supported.

 

EDIT: I've found here a topic about how to convert yout natit enabled gfxcard in an EFI string to use instead of the natit.kext

with mark-i the on i find in your sig the output windows show only temps.

cmq il mio vcore scende da 1.368 (quasi idle) a 1.29 caricando un po il sistema (calcolo, becnhmark, ramtest...il tutto in parallelo)

 

ho modificato il tuo DSDT per includere il codice per la mia ATI x1950GT ( tutto ok)

rimosso da /Extra/Extensions entrambi i kext legacy per HDA e sostituito con il nuovo AppleHDA...tutto ok

(tanto al prossimo aggiornamento sicuramente non servirà e ripasserò quindi ai legacy)

 

un'ultima cosa. sono costretto ad usare una utility che si chiama "PleaseSleep" per mettere in sleep come da da impostazioni risparmio energia. Da solo non ci va ma manualmente si. strano. ho già diabilitato tutte le condivisioni etc. etc ..nisba

Non ho ben capito cosa ci rientrino le regole del forum con l'installer.

 

Per quanto mi riguarda purtroppo credo che il problema sia il solito che c'era nel 2.5 anche se non capisco se si tratti di un errore soggettivo.

Le differenze che noto con le mobo Asus referenziate in questo post sono:

- ICH9DH invece del più consueto ICH9R

- ALC883 invece di ALC888

- JMB361 invece di JMB363

- Intel 82566DC invece di RTL 8110SC

Sembra un DSDT molto simile a quello della P5KC però non è uguale quindi sto cercando di adattarlo ma alcune parti mi lascian in dubbio, appena ha una versione compilata la posto.

apri console.app la trovi con +spazio digitando console

guarda /private/var/log/install.log e posta gli errori relativi all'installazione così posso capire qual'è il problema, grazie.

Hi all P5KC/R users.

Do you have issues with keyboard or mouse now working after sleep after 10.6.3 update. They have to be replugged to work again. I've put back IOUSBFamily.kext from 10.6.2 and it only solved mouse working after sleep. Keyboard is still dead :/

 

Another question is what PCI Ethernet card do you recommend which works out of the box as I'm tired of resetting onboard one after sleep. Are any of these:

Ciao e grazie per la tua guida con la quale mi va tutto alla grande, ma ho un problema che mi sta facendo dannare. Riguarda l'audio e in particolare l'uscita digitale con VLC e DVD Player. Semplificando: ho da poco acquistato un Logitech Z-5500 5.1 e con l'AppleHDA da te postato oltre al DSDT.aml vanno alla grande connesse col cavo coassiale digitale; ho abilitato il passthrough dell'AC3/DTS e infatti con quick time il decoder dello Z-5500 codifica sia il Dolby Digital che il DTS ma il problema ce l'ho con VLC e DVD Player perché nelle loro rispettive preferenze per le uscite audio non mi danno la possibilità di scegliere l'uscita digitale (in VLC mi compare solo Uscita Digitale che mi da solo lo stereo mentre quella che serve è Uscita Digitale (codificata), mentre in DVD Player non mi da affatto l'uscita digitale). So che potrebbe sembrare OT ma credo possa essere relativo alla corretta compilazione del DSDT e/o dei kext audio poichè nel mio altro sistema iDeneb 10.5.8 tutto funziona perfettamente. Ho provato a chiedere a Master Chief sul forum internazionale avendo lui la mia stessa mobo e avendo aperto anche un thread sul pinconfig per ALC883 (di cui purtroppo non ho capito assolutamente nulla!), ma non ho purtroppo ricevuto risposta.

Mi scuso per la lungaggine e se l'argomento fosse effettivamente off topic ma spero fortemente in un suggerimento tuo e di chiunque altro benefattore.

Purtroppo non ho idea di come aiutarti perché non ho mai provato le uscite digitali, forse puoi provare ad aggirare il problema usando soundsource una scheda audio virtuale che si usa per fare dei routing particolari in osx.

La mia idea è che se sound source ti da la possibilità di uscire dall'uscita digitale come ti serve, allora ti basta mandare vlc o dvd player a soundsource invece che all'uscita e poi mandare soundsource all'uscita.

sound source è composto da due programmi soundsource appunto e soundflowerbed che serve per controllarlo e impostarlo
