I have the black one - 2400p 15542-02 Broadcom chipset

The range isn't brilliant if I put it at the back of my machine but I've got plenty of USB ports at the front and it works fine with the magic mouse.

From the Trust website it says it's v2.1 but they also call it the 2400P

http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=15542

From my Pixmania order in my inbox it says it was:

"BT-2400p Bluetooth 2.0 USB Adapter "

So I bought that one because it was 2400P which people had said that they had working on this forum.

Thanks, I'll check them now...

Pixmania only seem to have the 2.0 version in stock, is that what you are using?

OK I finally got everything working. Sleep and wake with my Magic Mouse and Apple Bluetooth Keyboard using Trust 2400P (15542-02) bluetooth dongle.

My system:

Core i7 overclocked to 3.88GHz

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P board

ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB graphics

3GB DDR3 1333

I used the vanilla installation with the DSDT file and instruction from d00d. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=196771. He gave the full instruction on how to overclock with all the proper changes in the DSDT file. Everything worked beautifully until I decided to add Bluetooth.

After reading this forum and countless other support postings, I decided to purchase Trust 2400P (15542-02). What I really want is to be able to use both the new Magic Mouse and Apple Bluetooth keyboard. Therefore wake from sleep is VERY important to me. I was lucky to find the Trust bluetooth dongle in London during a business trip last weekend. The Trust dongle works well with both MM and Apple Keyboard except two problems:

1. I can't wake the computer with either the keyboard or MM. The "Allow Bluetooth Device to Wake the Computer" option in Bluetooth Preferences/Advanced is grey out.

2. If i wake the system up with the Power button my MM will only work 1 in 10 time. I can see the both MM and keyboard are still connected on the computer but both won't wake up until I use my wired mouse to change any Bluetooth setting. However, LocusOfControl indicated in his earlier posting that he was able to get it to work after he wakes the system (by using Power button).

I was determined to make them work. I went out today and brought another BT dongle, the Targus ACB10US (rev. 2) as per Apple's support site. Unfortunately after reading the Targus web page it looks like only the older Rev 1 (long stick) will support Mac. Rev 2 (shorter stick) will not. Apple's support page did not make it very clear. After spent $34 at the local Office Depot I found out the Targus bluetooth dongle is worst than the Trust dongle. Both MM and Keyboard will work. But neither device will wake from the sleep mode no matter what I do.

After reading through hundreds of forum postings. someone discovered after install SteerMouse from (http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/ ) the "Allow Bluetooth Device to Wake the Computer" option in Bluetooth Preferences/Advanced is no longer greyed out. I can now wake my computer with either my MM or the keyboard using the Trust dongle. And both devices will work properly after the system is awake.

Unfortunately the Targus ACB10US (rev. 2) dongle still does not work.

For all of you who has a working BT dongle with MM and want to be able to wake the computer with your Bluetooth keyboard or MM, you can try the above software to see if it will work. Again I am assuming you can wake your computer with a wired mouse.

BTW: SteerMouse is installed in your System Preferences. I did not make any changes to the default settings in SteerMouse.

Good luck. Thanks to LocusOfControl for recommending the Trust dongle. I am so happy. Now my system is fully functioning like a $3000 mac. :P

I have same dongle. I have Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Magic TrackPad. My problem is with Trackpad. I cannot enter sleep because Magic Trackpad always wake up hackintosh imidiatelly after he went to sleep. When Trackpad is turned off sleep work without problem (I can wake it up by pressing any key on Apple wireless keyboard and after wakeup keypoard works perfectly. Magic Trackpad is a problem.

Trust Ultra Small Bluetooth 2.1 USB Adapter, Model No. 16008 (http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001MYLB74/ref=oss_product)

works like a charm under 10.6.4 + 10.6.5 with MM.

Sleep, PowerButtonWake, MM-BTWake, AluKB-USBWake.

All works perfectly.

Just adding VEN-ID / DEV-ID in decimal to IOBluetoothFamily.kext/Content/PlugIns/BroadcomUSBBluetoothHICController.kext

Used 100% DSDT-Mod for my GA-EP35-DS3R rev.2.1 (ICH9 identified as ICH10 (USB+SATA) plus SleepFix ....).

Can you try it wit MagicTrackpad? Mine doesn't allow sleep because he imidiately wakes up system.

I got my Trust 2400p working by editing the Broadcom kext in the IOBluetoothFamily.kext (in S/L/E) to add my vendor and product ID in hex as per earlier guides.

I didn't have to install Steer at all - just add the IDs to the kext, install the edited kext, rebuild cache, reboot and the option was no longer greyed out.

Now I can wake my hack from sleep using either the wired keyboard, power button or magic mouse and the mouse and system work fine after sleep.

I'd go down the route of editing the kext first !

my GigaMacPro is using TRUST BT-2400P, manual sleep (from the menu) is working with magic trackpad.

only idle sleep (with timer) is not working.

i have another partition where the trackpad is not configured and all methods of sleep are working fine.

Yesterday I ordered the Magic Mouse, BT Keyboard and Trackpad (Along with the Airport Extreme Base Station...Apple sale...yeah!).

I have also sourced at very good price these two dongles...

Trust Bt-2400p Small Bluetooth 2 Usb Adaptor

ASUS Mini Bluetooth Dongle USB-BT21 White Retail (Bottom One)

...fingers crossed!

I also have my eye on the D-Link DBT-120 (Rev. C1) which I seem to have learned was supported from 10.5 (The B2 was supported prior to this of course)...

I got a Broadcom 0x5ac 0x2121 Dongle and sleep/wake after Kext Edit is possible. But when the System goes to sleep, it wakes up immediately since there seems to some bluetooth "traffic" going on between the System and the Mouse.

Anyone else experiencing this? Man, i really wanted wake by bluetooth, but not INSTANTELY after sleeping ;)

I have same problem. Problem is Apple Magic TrackPad. I also have Apple wireless keyboard. When Magic Trackpad is turned off manually, sleep working without problem (no instant wake-up)

On my thread on TonyMac's website someone has just posted that disabling legacy USB support in their BIOS has helped them

"Try disabling legacy disabling legacy USB keyboard, USB mouse, and possibly USB storage in your BIOS. That seems to have solved the problems for me. "

Just in case that helps anyone here.

This is probably the place to ask as I've been stuck with this for a while now. I have an Apple bluetooth keyboard using a Belkin USB bluetooth adapter - it works fine, it even wakes my computer. Although for some reason when I wake up from sleep the key bindings are messed up. Especially the function keys along the top, they all operate different things i.e volume controls exposé etc.

Anyone had this problem?

Thanks

Yes, same thing with Apple Wirelles Keyboard and Belkin USB Mini bluetooth adapter!

Thanks notshy, but it didn't help. Interesting is when I try to sleep second or third time he went to sleep and wakes up for about 3 seconds and then enter to sleep again (monitor didn't turn on) and then enter to endless loop wake-up - sleep. I must disconnect power cord to stop it.

I can pair the BT Keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad and they all work fine. I can also put the system to sleep and wake from sleep using the BT Keyboard but have to unplug and replug the dongle for the Trackpad and Mouse to work again.

Thanks in advance :(

Just finished reading this whole thread about 5 minutes ago...

So it looks as though the Trust BT Dongle, along with some kext editing is the way to go? Correct?

Yep ... I just refuse to pay $40+ for a BT dongle ...

See post 170 by kdawg .. If you can find a Cambridge based dongle then you can use his Legacy kext.

For example my Belkin F8T017 works just great with the legacy kext and my BT apple alu keyboard, inc' wake from sleep.

If you happen to be in the UK you can wander down to your nearest Tesco and pick up their own brand dongle (Technika TKB109) or buy online from Tesco direct

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-7710.aspx

Works 100% natively in 10.5.x and 10.6.x on both real Macs and OSX86. Bluetooth wake from sleep works, every BT device I have tried with it connects perfectly including the Magic Mouse, and the connection is rock solid - no annoying drop-outs unlike some other dongles. It's based around the same Cambridge Silicon Radio chipset that Apple have used since the Powerbook G4, just plug it in and you're away.

Just like to say thanks for pointing this bluetooth adaptor out ;] I'll know where to get a compatible bluetooth for my hackintosh when I finally purchase a magic mouse ;]
