I haven't been here for long and maybe this is the wrong place to ask but if I where to get a x79 m-atx mobo would there be more benefits / safer to get a Gigabyte one if I ever wanted to run OS X on it or would something from Asus work to? MSI? Though I rather buy a brand I trust than {censored}. I've already had a Gigabyte motherboard .. (And yeah, this cheap second-hand bought MSI one also suck, VIA chipset on both :D)

Anyhow, is there even a m-atx Gigabyte x79 motherboard you know work / can really recommend which I can just get and be done with? In that case feel free to link/PM whatever would needed so I can use that later. Thanks. If inappropriate I or moderators can remove this comment.

Hey everybody, This is my first time posting .

I finally got snow leapord 10.6.3 Installed and every thing is working but my audio.

I went ahead and updated to 10.6.8, audio still doesn't work but now my internet stopped working too. So now I'm wondering if maybe a dsdt file would help.

Is it possible for anybody to take a look at my dsdt and patch it correctly because i have no idea how to do it?

My internet was working until i upgraded from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8

My system specs are:

Motherboard: GA-790FXTA-UD5

Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition

Memory: 2 x 4 gb DDR3 1333 Corsair = 8 Gb total

Graphics: Radeon HD 5670

3 x Samsung spinpoint F3 1 Tb (1 drive each for Wn 7, Ubuntu 11.10, and Osx 10.6.8)

Thank you so much!!

dsdt.aml.zip

Hi. I just recently got an aluminum wired keyboard. Everything works fine except I can't get the keyboard or anything connected to it's hub to wake up. My other usb keyboard worked fine with wakeup. I tried the ehci edit in an earlier post on this thread. But it didn't work. I also wasn't able to get the lpc portion of the dsdt working because I was confused on how to edit that part. So I just did the ehci part by mm67. Can someone check out my dsdt.aml and see where it needs to be patched? Thank you.

Hi,

I have GA-G31M-ES2L & Q6600 G0, I've edited dsdt, done everything properly (not the frist time nor mobo...), but I cant get rid of one problem the comp freezes when there is a heavy load on HDD & CPU eg. if I open Firefox, JD & Mail or copy two large files at the same time... so I've narrowed it down to SpeedSteping isue.

Same thing happens under 10.6/7 and 8 which I'm currently using. Under W7 everything works fine, so it's not a hardware issue.

As far as the extensions go I'm using AtherosL1c,FakeSMC,GigabyteALC88b6Ch and HDAEnabler. Chameleon Enoch-rev.2003.

I've attached the relevant files DSDT/SSDT/cham.boot.plist, as well as unmodified files extracted with AIDA64.

If anyone has any clue as to why this is happening I'd appreciate it. :-)

Which one do you sugesst for ML? Bios is the latest one FI (mobo came with it and there isn't anything after that), mobo is REV2.4.

DSDT has been modified by me, also tried the auto-patcher but it just makes a mess of things with this mobo...

As far as the IRQ thing well.. All the devices are fixed (HPET/TIMR/IPIC/etc.) althou I did notice that hpet and ide/sata are sharing irq13 so maybe that's the problem but I did try to resolve it but unsuccessfully, I've read somewhere that sata should be on IRQ14 but I have no clue as to how to force it from 13 to 14 (did try in bios to reserve IRQ13 but it did nothing)

It is one wierd annoying problem.

ive never seen 13 in HPET

usualy u remove all but MATH (COPR)(in my g31m its removed and works)

and Keyboard or mouse. and keep hpet 0,8 add 11,15 (1 at a time and test)

i have to boot up osx soon. ill look at your PATCHED dsdt

It works! It still gets a hickup here and there but thats acceptable, althou I did notice that the CPU runs a bit hotter with your dsdt but then again i can live with that too :D Thank You! On a side note I would like to know what I did wrong with my DSDT :)

I am still having difficulty getting my GA-G31M-ES2L (rev. 1.1, F10) to sleep. I am essentially trying to figure out if my sleep function is not working because of an error in my DSDT file or a wayward kext.

I noticed today when I ran the kextstat command, that the NullCPUPowerManagement kext still loads alongside the AppleIntelCPUManagement kext even though I deleted NullCPUPowerManagement from both /Extra and /System/Library/Extensions and used Kext Wizard to rebuild both caches.

Everything I've read so far indicates that this file is not necessary if the DSDT file is patched correctly (I used MaLd0n's Auto-Patcher for my board). (Correct me if I'm misunderstanding this.)

Is there something glaringly obvious that I'm overlooking?

Everything I've read so far indicates that this file is not necessary if the DSDT file is patched correctly (I used MaLd0n's Auto-Patcher for my board). (Correct me if I'm misunderstanding this.)

Is there something glaringly obvious that I'm overlooking?

For detailed info on my system and a link to my DSDT file: click here

u can also try my dsdt in my signature link

You write "

Lets start by fixing USB stuff.

" what usb stuff ???

I like to get native Powermanagement Working with my GA EP-45-UD3 Rev1.0 F9

Any help is welcome :)
