SaddenTrap Posted October 12, 2009 Share Posted October 12, 2009 Hello there i have tried many time to install Sl on my setup without any succes , i have tried with USB boot method and : kp when i type - x32 before any install ,after this i have tried in 64 bits (just by typing enter after boot) and it work a bit ,i can formate my hdd,choose where install the dvd but when i click "install" Kernel panic ,you need to restar your .." So there is my questions ,someone have succesfull instal this sh.. on a P5E it is possible?(i already have a 100% active sytem wth 10.5.8 work like a charm) For info i have put in the extra file : FakeSMC, OpenHaltRestart, PlatformUUID and NullCPUPM and that all, i need some other stuff or what? and why i can't strat with a 32 bit mode? Can you provide some details like installation method, kexts used, dsdt or bios mods? Maybe you can attach your mkext extensions here.. I have the same hardware, but i Could not get shutdown / sleep / restart working. Power Management also did not work. I will be very gratefull and share my experience with SL. Thanks in advance!!! SaddenTrap Posted October 14, 2009 Author Share Posted October 14, 2009 Hi,i can see in your post you have tried 10.5.6 version of leopard ,i can say atm it's the worth version i have never tried for my hardware!!! I use mainly iDeneb ,the better i have never tried is whitout doubt iDeneb 10.5.5 ,run smoothy, out of the box ,now i use 10.5.8 (deneb 1.6 lite) it's compromise beetwen 1.3 and 1.4 from ideneb, run well, but some bug(i can't see the audio control panel ,sound work but just a visual bug,shutdown,restart,and sleep work very well,last bug : if i dont put my usb since the beginig i start my pc it will dont mount!),let me know if you want some other infos Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191642-any-success-on-an-asus-p5e-x38/#findComment-1298667 Share on other sites More sharing options...
knifez Posted November 9, 2009 Share Posted November 9, 2009 My build specifications is below: Asus P5E Core 2 Duo @ 3.7Gig Corsair DDR2 8Gig Western Digital 500Gig(IDE) You should get iATKOS (10.5.7) install it. Once finished, run Apple Update Software to get yourself to 10.5.8. Restart and enjoy.
