SleeplessMedia
I downloaded SnowOSX Install Universal GM 10a432 iso torrent, Burned it, booted it without any hijinks, installed it without any changes to defaults, rebooted into a kernel panic that told me IOATA was the culprit, replaced it with 10.5.8 kext, rebooted and boom... instant snow leopard. Updated via software update to 10.6.1... reinstalled my com.appple.boot.plist that included my EFI strings from leopard and boom.. qe/ci q2d enabled. Installed apple azalia sound kext, boom sound working...installed attansic l2 atheros kext... boom LAN working.....Why does every other guide on this forum subsection make it seem like you have to have a PHd to install Snow Leopard? I'm puzzled. did I just get lucky or what? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191434-easiest-osx-install-ever/ Share on other sites

The install was quite easy right up to this point, I restarted and now it's stuck on the "please connect your keyboard" screen. I cannot get the OS to boot completely. Is there a way to get the proper kext installed without being able to get into the OS to edit the proper directories. If you are dual booting with XP you can install Macdrive and copy the ps2 kext from 10.5.8 to the extensions folder and try again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191434-easiest-osx-install-ever/#findComment-1296651 Share on other sites

How comfortable are you with the terminal? you could start the machine with the install disc, if you have a usb or firewire external disc you could place the kext there and use the terminal to copy it over... I suck at terminal commands tho... so i cant help you there... I installed the same version on my intel Acer 4736. One more thing... the only kext not enabled by default on the install customization menu is PS2.... maybe go back and install that along with all the defaults when 1st installing.... good luck...
