brendanssound
Anyone able to assist? My youtube videos are delayed (video is behind) also tested with videos from other sources.. same problem. My clock is also delayed by about 1-5 minutes I thought maybe it was a video card driver issue (because i STILL can't change the resolution out of 1280 even though System Information says i have a 8600 GS) But i've installed Nvidia web driver with no change (and no resolutions added for that matter) So i moved on to bus frequency settings (CPU at 2.20Ghz And Bus Frequency at 198999 (for that 10% Decrease fix idea earlier in the thread) and still no change. I do also have a audio static noise (I've band aid fixed by going into Midi Setup and turning the frequency to 192hz) Running El Capitan + Clover EFI (as per Fusions guide) DELL M1530 2.20Ghz T7500 CPU (according to BIOS) 4G DDR2 GPU: I was under the impression was an 8600GT but as i said.. it says GS in system info) Everything else is working nice enough as long as i change any audio settings i find to 192hz.. Sleep is broken (sometimes works, sometimes restarts.. i turn it off anyway) Cheers
oliveg
Hi Guys, Successfully installed High Sierra Release 10.13_17A365 on my Dell XPS M1530/Intel T9300/GF 8600M (external HFS+ HDD for testing )... HS_17A365 on XPS M1530, Clover r4220.png Steps to install or upgrade install: 1) Upgrade Clover to r4220 and latest config.plist & kexts for Sierra/High Sierra. 2) Download "Install macOS High Sierra.app" v13.0.64 from Mac App Store. 3) Prior to update, delete NVRAM.plist files from all EFI partitions (incl USB drives) and clear NVRAM (sudo NVRAM -c command in terminal). This avoids "OSInstall.mpkg damaged/missing" error. 4) Directly run "Install macOS High Sierra.app" from Applications folder, targeting the desired HFS+ or APFS installation partition --> automatically creates "macOS Install Data" folder on that volume... Install macOS High Sierra.png Agree To Terms.png Show All Disks.png Admin Password.png Select Target Partition.png Restart to Install.png 5) At first restart, boot to "macOS Install" ---> files from install packages written to disk... Boot macOS Install from HiSierra.png Verbose -v.png Installing on HiSierra.JPG 6) At second restart, boot to High Sierra partition, setup user etc. If there is a kernel panic after kext caches are rebuilt, just boot again into High Sierra. The Disabler.kext will prevent future panics once it is in the pre-linked kernel cache (blocks AppleYukon2.kext in /S/L/E). Installation Notes Clover's default values for FF/FFM/PF and BIOS ver/date/Board-ID data (MBP7,1 SMBIOS) --> avoids error while "verifying firmware". Install apfs.efi driver in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64 only if you need to install on APFS target volume. If upgrading existing OS X on HDD, HFS+ is preserved (on SSD HFS+ will be converted automatically to APFS). Hi fusion71au! Would you have a detailed tuto to install high sierra on the same M1530 as yours, including BIOS settings? My HD is a new one, no os on it. Thank you for your help! macdanny
I see fusion71au has High Sierra running on his 1530. Does anyone have it running on a 1330? I have Sierra on it now and had previously failed to get High Sierra to work when it first came out.

I can only boot clover off a flash drive. I tried installing Clover onto SSD EFI then the root of the SSD and all I get is a flashing cursor. Tried initially as we are suppose to do for Legacy Bios "install boot0af in MBR" then tried the 2nd choice boot0ss. Nothing works just a flashing cursor, never reaches the clover GUI. Tried two different XPS M1530's. Bios settings are correct AHCI and Flash Cache Module enabled. Have you ever observed this or anyone else and if so what did you do to resolve it? Thanks! SOLVED: Clover version 4630 if freshly installed without a prior known booting version is broken. You can upgrade over a working version no issues but if you freshly format a drive install Sierra 10.13.6, boot your flash drive then install Clover v4630 is won't boot. I installed a prior version 4097, it boot fine then upgraded to v4630. Edited August 5, 2018 by oSxFr33k Solved

Procedure 1. Download i386 folder (attached to this post) with boot0af inside to your ~/Downloads folder 2. Determine disk number of target disk with "diskutil list" command - in my case, USB = disk1 3. Unmount target disk in terminal sudo diskutil unmountDisk rdisk1 4. Write boot0af to MBR with dd sudo dd if=/dev/rdisk1 bs=512 count=1 of=~/Downloads/i386/origMBR cp ~/Downloads/i386/origMBR ~/Downloads/i386/newMBR sudo dd if=~/Downloads/i386/boot0af of=~/Downloads/i386/newMBR bs=440 count=1 conv=notrunc sudo dd if=~/Downloads/i386/newMBR of=/dev/rdisk1 count=1 bs=512 sudo diskutil mountDisk rdisk1 i386.zip 11 hours ago, oSxFr33k said: @fusion71au I have a question for you about this ACPI error "AE Already Exists" also seen before I think this is a cosmetic error and you can safely ignore. Process of install and post install patching can be automated with @dosdude's macOS Mojave Patcher. jtrindle
Hi folks. I am trying to get an XPS m1330 running Mountain Lion or above, preferably Yosemite or above. It is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Lion 10.7.5 just fine booting via Chameleon, but I need a higher OS to meet an app's requirements. The problem is, the installer locks up part way through. It seems to relate to computer temperature. I have made it as far as the "23 minutes left" progress bar of the actual install, but within a minute it locks up. I've left it overnight. The warmer the computer is when I start, the sooner it locks up while accessing the hard drive. Often it doesn't even switch to the GUI. I have tried many different combos, and am currently trying to use Clover to install Olarila Mavericks. I'm using the DSDT https://www.insanelymac.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=114948 from post #1 in this thread. and I have GraphicsEnabler=Y and have tried various combinations of Inject NVDIDIA, nv_disable=1, etc. as well as different DSDT.aml files from the first post of this thread. Any ideas?
fusion71au
Hi guys. Major update for all those with BCM94321 wifi cards - @parrotgeek1 and @dosdude have posted a solution that makes the card function normally in High Sierra and Mojave (tested in 10.13.6 & 10.14.3 .). Install the attached kexts into /S/L/E and rebuild caches et voila!... Spoiler PS @dosdude also managed to get graphics acceleration working in the latest 10.14.4beta4 (with a non-Metal legacy GPU) in this post. I will test when the official 10.14.4 release comes out... How are you doing? Good thanks. Yourself? Have you tried the Dosdude's Patched Catalina installer for the M1530? Yes, Catalina patcher v1.4.3 working well for installing macOS 10.15.4 on the XPS M153... Would this bring back functionality for our Ethernet, Wifi, battery and GFX in Catalina? Mostly OK for Wifi (using BCM4321fix kexts) and GFX in Catalina but no ethernet with MBP 7,1 SMBIOS and can’t confirm battery indicator working (my battery expired years ago, running on AC power). Have you also tried OpenCore as an alternate to Clover or does our Laptop work better in Clover. Either way would ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin for our LPC device still fail for CST even in Open Core? Yes, Opencore 0.5.8 works well as an alternative to Clover for booting macOS/Windows/Linux. Also LPC device will still fail for CST, even using Open Core. Advantages of OC: Very fast boot and optimisable. Disadvantages of OC: More difficult and technical for newbies, still in beta phase (no GUI themes out of the box). Can cause Windows activation issues if your Windows is OEM activated. oSxFr33k
@fusion71au Thanks for sharing your OC Zip everything works wonderful. I enabled OpenCanopy.efi so I have the full console GUI. Got the Icons etc from Resources which look fabulous from https://github.com/acidanthera/OcBinaryData Are you able to get your Bluetooth working? I think we have a built in one and isn't there one included on the WIFI card? Are you able to get your display to change brightness? Would you know how to get picker to choose the boot drive instead of picking #1 by default? My Boot drive is #4, maybe under security, AllowSetDefault? Also any easy way to have the EFI auto mount the way we did it with Clover RC utils. Edited: I think my other XPS M1530 does not have the Bluetooth module since its now working on my everyday M1530. Builtin Display Brightness slider in preferences is there but nothing happens when I move it no change in brightness. Since two weeks now can't figure out how to make the default picker on any of my systems, and with EFI auto mount I am thinking there must be something I need to set in nvram section? Edited Again: Found a section on how to enable nvram.plst but still need to be able to auto mount the EFI and set the MacOS as the default picker, brightness won't change with the slider? BTW, Rehab's ACPI battery working great, since we are not using VirtualSMC I figured I cannot use SMCBatteryManager.kext Edited April 20, 2020 by oSxFr33k

oSxFr33k
@fusion71au So I do have the brightness slider in System Preferences, Display but when I slide it there is no change in LCD brightness on both M1530's, one was an upgrade form 10.11 and the other was a clean install. I installed Karabiner-Elements and I get the nice Apple Volume Animation but no response to LCD brightness changes. The conditions are the same for both OpenCore and Clover. What I am thinking is maybe I am doing something wrong with the Dosdude1 patcher? Does it matter what PC or Laptop you run the Dosdude1 Patcher on just to create a USB installer? In other words if I ran the patcher on a Modern EFI based laptop just to create an Installer would that be a problem? Also once the installation is complete do you boot back into the installer and use the post patcher from there? I did not use it that way and I thought that post patching was only used for real macs, if not that might be the problem. For now I am staying on Clover I don't like the fact that its that difficult to get the picker to default to what I want it to default to while in Clover its a breeze and I like my EFI to auto-mount another brain teaser in OpenCore. Thanks for sharing your files! Edited April 26, 2020 by oSxFr33k
bsm001
I know its an older OS, but heres how I did a completely clean install of High Sierra on a Dell M1530. Thats using a completely blank hard drive. No prior OS installs at all. This is what I did to install HS and Windows dualboot: My BIOS settings: integrated nic off medicard 1394 off cpuxd support enabled multicore enabled speedstep off usb wake off fast boot minimal virtualization enabled usb emu enabled ---------------------------- used transmac to burn usb from high sierra hackintosh 10.13.dmg (Hackintosh Zone High Sierra Installer). replaced bootloader clover folder/files with clover 5119 and config.plist set for macbookpro7,1 booted from the usb. Chose Disk utility and formatted internal drive, 40gig for mac as journaled, remainder as FAT for windows Then open terminal and type: date -u 0925000017 Then start the install, customize OS selecting Clover EFI option for legacy bios, then install to HD. Afterwards, if you cant edit or mount the EFI and efi is corrupt on hd, in terminal type: newfs_msdos -F32 -v EFI/dev/disk0s1 and then copy bootloader usb into new efi on hard drive. install BCM4321fix for wifi (earlier in this thread) download/run the os 10.13.6 combo update to add windows later... make a windows usb, boot from hd clover, exit, choose the last boot option in the uefi menu system and then boot from file on the usbwindows called bootx64.efi

Long time since I visited this, since I do not use much my XPS M1330 Now that I update my old Mac Pro (2009) with new pair of XEONS and NVME drive running Big Sur thanks to OpenCore I am curious if I can upgrade my XPS with Clover to OpenCore and if I can get proper shutdown Obviously because it’s Processor and lack of SSE4 I can not upgrade beyond El Capitan, but would be nice if I can use my already patched DSDT that I use with clover
oSxFr33k
@fusion71au Have not seen you in a few months everything ok over there? I went back to Clover from OpenCore realizing CPU power management is not working correctly. Gigamaxx has a guide for OpenCore pentium/Celeron I have to look over but speed step seems to work for a moment in Opencore then its stuck at max. My temps lowered by 10 degrees after I went back to Clover, so OpenCore needs more adjustment I don't think it looks that complicated. Also I cannot get LCD backlight to work in either Clover or OpenCore and I have tried everything. It should be similar to my Laptop Asus G750JX Haswell CPU where it also only has dedicated Nvidia GTX 7770M and the basics are the same, there is just no backlight for the M1530 on Catalina with Dosdude's patcher maybe the Core Brightness framework fix has broken backlight, no?
