Been trying all day to install SL on my new P6T (normal), Core i7. I can get past the boot loader and into the installer portion but it hangs at "Installing Mac OS X on the disk". I've partioned the drives as Journaled (GUID) but it just seems to hang there. Any ideas?

Did you enabled achi? Also your motherboard is different. Has an extra Jmicron and Sli, so you should try a guide with a dsdt made for your mobo. Try the blog Jas mentioned. They have full files and instructions for P6T (not SE)

bro just a quick question has your hard drive turned orange ...and slwo did your qe/cl work out the box as mine has gine awol and the drives are detected as external......thanks

You need to install IOAhciblockstorageinjector.kext to solve this problem. You have to install it to /extra/extensions folder. Then rebuild your mkext with kext utility, reboot and problem solved.

If you installed windows 7 in IDE mode, ahci does not work. You need to install ahci drivers!

- Set BIOS back to IDE

- Start Windows

- Run Registry Editor (Click on Start > Run, type Regedit and press OK )

- Go to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci

- Change the "Start" value to 0

- Reboot and go to BIOS immediately

- Set BIOS to AHCI

The next time you load Windows, it will auto-detect the AHCI.

Great !!!!

It works !!!!

Thanks a lot ! :D

Today i tried ibench and i had a low score too. This is not normal (as it is not normal with the outdated xbench too). I think ibench is ok for original macs only. It gives better scores to a core 2 duo and lower scores to an i7 :D Geekbench is more reliable for hackintoshes because it works with windows too and we can have a comparison between Snow Leopard and Windows on the same machine, plus a comparison with a real mac. Also we must not forget that speed is something "relative". A core 2 duo pc with a good ssd will feel faster than an i7 computer with a regular 7200 hard disk, in many occasions....

i am using this guide http://www.fleebailey33.org/

for my P6T and msi 5850 ...when i press enter after to boot mac fro dvd it give me blank screen ....and there is nothing ...do i have to chang me bios ...or not ..

For the moment and as far as i know, ati gpus 5xxx are not supported in hackintosh. So if nothing has changed and even you boot, you will not have native display resolution. Newer nvidia gpus are 100% supported.

Have enabled ACHI mode from bios? Also if your ssd is old it is very possible that it conflicts with the ICH10 chipset. My 3 years old SSD does not work with this motheboard or with any ICH10 mobos. If you have AHCI enabled and also all other bios settings are as described in this thread, and still you can't see your disks, try to mount only 1 disk during the installation and if everything goes well, you can plug the others after you finish installing osX.

Ι am really not familiar with ati GPUs, i think netkas.org has information for ati cards, but i am sure that the 5xxx chipset is not supported in hackintosh for now. If you get an Nvidia gpu (there are some cheap nvidias out there and of course if you are not into gaming) your system will be 100% compatible and using tweak41 's guide, you will be able to install osx.

Ok, so more on that firewire issue. My devices are only recognized and hotswappable after sleep. BChemist, is this something that you may have already included in the DSDT files?

10.6.3 update successfully, same configuration as 10.6.2. I've only replaced the old original appleHDA kext of 10.6 (and the kexts for the video card). sleep works. ATI 4890 works but not supports openGL 3.0.

If someone wants test its own ATI card that is the openGL tester for ATI cards.

I've try to play the opengl tester on a mac pro dual quad with an ATI 2600XT installed and the result is the same, no openGL support. I think openGL is not completely supported on 10.6.3 so the tester have a bad response.

I got a question.

If I use bluetooth dongle and apple bluetooth keyboard, will I be able to access bios or select boot options during the PC booting? Thanks.

I have tried 3 different dongles and none worked with bios. Also the 3 of them did not recognize the keyboard during windows boot. i had to plug a usb keyboard and pair the bluetooth keyboard again. But at least all of them work as they should with osX (broadcom chipset).

Can someone that succesfully upgraded to 10.6.3 whilst retaining on-board sound, please post their kext combination? I think I have exhausted every possible combination, including fleebailey's custom kext, and still nothing...

Attaching the proper kext would be even better, as I've lost the newest one in the process.

Thanks!

Just use the standard marionez one. Don't forget to delete /S/L/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches before reboot though. Works for me.

You put the kext in /System/Library/Extensions then it works. Not really sure how that can go wrong.

Completely forgot to delete the cache. Was out of it for a while. Doh.

That was the first little bump in the road of OSx86 for me, I thought. Turns out it's my own negligence.

Thanks to the many contributors on this thread, everything went completely smoothly for me thusfar.
