solefald
hello, i am having hell of a time trying to get SL running good on Dell Vostro 200 (Intel G33 chipset). AHCI enabled in BIOS because it does not boot in regular IDE mode. 1 hard drive. 2 optical drives. Every few seconds everything stalls. This drives me absolutely insane.... My logs are filled with this: SerialATAPI device reconfiguration did not complete successfully. (failedCommandInfo = 0x1) SerialATAPI device reconfiguration did not complete successfully. solefald
so i managed to find a workaround to this... not ideal, but seems to be working so far... I disconnected both optical drives and just left a singe hard drive plugged in. 20 minutes later, not a single one of those messages... hoping someone would find a real fix for it soon enough.... dacheat
Same issue as the ASUS P6T board. I have the P6T and ranted about this issues a while back.. search my username. You have to use Compatible/IDE mode etc if you want to use more than one SATA drive. You describe the exact problem we are having. I read further and it seems that Apple may not be supporting some part of the AHCI implementation with the 10.6 kernel. I read that in another post discussing AHCI differences with the Gigabyte vs the ASUS board. Until Apple releases a new kernel with support for this we have to use IDE/Compat. It's still really fast so nothing really lost. Find my post.. I had a link to some kext's that may help you. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t=#entry1257815 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188699-sloooow-sata-on-vostro-200-intel-g33-chipset/#findComment-1280726 Share on other sites
