I've got a Viliv X70 tablet here, which is similar in some ways to the Sony Vaio P netbooks. As folks have been able to get 10.6 running on the Sonys, I thought I would give it a try on my Viliv X70.

Using a retail 10.6 install, modified with NetbookMaker, I've been able to get it to boot partway, until I get a kernel panic due to an APIC error. Unfortunately, there are no APIC options in the BIOS to play with, and I'm running the most recent X70 BIOS, so there's nowhere to go update-wise.

Just before the kernel panic I get:

launchctl: Please convert the following to launchd: /etc/mach_init.d/dashboardadvisoryd.plist

systemShutdown false

panic(cpu 1 caller 0x2ad638): "Local APIC error, ESR: 128\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1456.1.25/osfmk/i386/lapic.c:649"

followed by a backtrace dump.

Any suggestions re: the APIC error?

Any suggestions re: the APIC error?

OK, used a more recent version of the SL package for the VAIO-P netbook, and now the Viliv gets a lot further in the boot process, but panics when it comes to initializing the USB ports. I don't have the exact error in front of me right now, but will post later.
