a5hr1th
The following are the specs of my machine, currently running Leopard and Windows 7 flawlessly -Intel DG31PR Motherboard -Intel Q8200 2.33 GHz Quad Core Processor -4GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM -1x 500 GB *Leopard* -1x 250 GB *Windows 7* -1x 500 GB *Allocated for Snow Leopard* -nVidia 9500 GT 512MB I'm facing difficulties in installing Snow on this machine. I'm able to install it to the dedicated 500 GB drive using the OSInstall.mpkg method, but then I can't boot into Snow for various reasons. If some kind soul who's managed to get Snow Leopard up and running on the DG31PR, can post a guide/all the files related to this particular Motherboard, I can try that. Cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187186-need-help-installation-of-snow-leopard-on-intel-dg31pr-motherboard/ Share on other sites

Cheers Hi, I have quite a similar configuration myself, I used this guide (it went smooth): http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=183751 I also had to disable auto mode in the disk config of the dg31pr bios. And some kext from stell's blog: http://stellarola.tumblr.com/post/165429070/prepare-yourself Specially Voodoo HDA for the ALC888 audio and NVinject for the graphic card. Also the AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext Good luck!... Comodin. a5hr1th
Hey, thanks for replying ! I seem to have installed Snow Leopard properly on the HDD. I'm writing this from Snow Leopard There's one problem I'm facing however. My iPod touch, USB HDD/USB Sticks are not being detected, neither in Finder nor in Disk Utility. Help would be of much use. One more thing, inspite of the fact the Snow's not detecting most USB devices, its detecting my wireless USB Mouse + Keyboard and my HP 915 Printer Cheers UPDATE: SOLVED: Copied IOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage from Leopard to Snow Leopard [/s/L/E] Now I'm on a fairly decent Vanilla Snow Leopard installation Sound working [AppleHDA + HDAEnabler Fixes], USB working [iOUSBFamily.kext and IOUSBMassStorage from Leopard], Ethernet working OOB Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187186-need-help-installation-of-snow-leopard-on-intel-dg31pr-motherboard/#findComment-1271138 Share on other sites

antartika
I'm so glad to hear that!... So it seems no more issue other than changing automode on BIOS to disable ? I installed Snowy for testing on 2nd partition at 3rd H/D ... [1st H/D is Leo 10.5.8; 2nd H/D is data; 3rd H/D on 1st partition is 10.5.8] For Snow I have to change advanced drive automode to disable and also set boot sequence, so the 3rd H/D will be the first order. [if I don't change boot sequence, it will KP] For this boot sequence I'd like to take a further test, because on the existing setting I can choose on Chameleon whether I use Leo from 1st H/D or the 3rd. Question: when changing BIOS advanced drive automode to disable, we can only use port 0 and 2 for SATA disks ... what's the use for the other 2 SATA port [1 and 3] and how ? [When operating on disabled advanced drive, BIOS not recognize my 2nd SATA H/D which is data disk, hiks] .. My 3 HDDs are perfectly recognizable in the BIOS. Just fiddle with the SATA connections on the motherboard and put your Snow drive to SATA 0...
