SamK
for Realtek 8187 have a look at this - http://blog.eurico.net/?p=36 My adapter looks similar but is branded G-SKY and has a slightly differently case moulding. Don't know exactly what version of the chip I have as it shows up as "RTL8187_Wireless" works on my macBook Pro with 10.6.4 I'm using it now to connect to a wifi cafe across the street :-) the internal antenna's no good for the same connection
firefoxsilver9
D-Link DWA-140 B/G/N works 100% on 10.6.4 64-bit using ralink drivers from iatkos SL distro (The latest drivers didn't work for me). Got mine on eBay for less than $20 used with the seller even posted a link to SL drivers.

moray
Hi all! I just bought a AWUS036NH, I am using the ralink drivers version 3.0.3.0 under macox leopard. The adapter works very well, the problem is that the ralink wireless tool keeps crashing as soon as I either select a protected network (WEP or WPA it doesn't matter) or I try to add a profile.... The Wireless Tool version is 3.0.0.0 (that is the latest AFAIK) any kind of help will be much appreciated...thanks

aao_pink
Asus USB-N13 partly working on P5K-CM vanilla 10.6.5 + myHack bootloader This USB stick wifi adapter says on the box "Turns your PC into a Wireless Router" and the CD contains drivers for Win XP, 7, Linux, and MacOS-X. Just the thing for setting up an ad hoc network? Not for me. First the drivers on the disk are 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 The Ralink site has at 3 December 2010 a 10.6 driver RTUSB D2870-3.0.3.0 UI-3.0.0.0_2010_10_29.dmg which installs the Ralink Wireless Utility.app and S/L/E/RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext (plenty of network instructions for Windows, not much for Mac, and all screenshots are 10.4) After reboot open SystemPreferences/Network and be notified "A new Interface has been found" I chose to leave this as "configure by DHCP", altho' manual config didn't help much. NB the interface type is "802.11 n WLAN", not "Airport", this is significant: I am not offered the option to "Show Airport status in menu bar"; I don't get any of the airport network creation or joining options from SystemPreferences; all of the setup and network choices are done from the RalinkWirelessUtility, but I must have the USB stick plugged in at boot time for it to be recognised. I can setup an ad hoc network on my laptop (Asus eee 1008H HackOS 10.6.4 Atheros9285) and the N13 will join this, I can watch movies from my big media HD shared to the netbook, but I cannot get an internet connection to the netbook from my ADSL, which was the point of the exercise, and why I put "partly" in the first line. Just sayin' ;-)
