terramir
Were looking here for USB WIFI Adapters that work in SL. (srry for the bold and caps but peeps started posting about pci) Not looking for 64 bit drivers yet. Not much of a SNOW-ball's chance (pun intended ) in hell that will happening before Snow has been out for at least 6 months, they will come in time!!! Just working drivers so people like me can hold out for a solution to their non working naitive adapters. (like mine is an AR9285). Most of powerful pc's that need 64 bit are desktops (or notebooks with easily replaceable wifi cards (door on the bottom) which can just plug in a known natively compatible card do a search you'll find threads on rebranding as well. So purpose here is clear getting our mac's or hacks doing what their intended to do surf the web on the go without having to reboot to widowz and with-out having to crack open our highly integrated net/notebooks and possibly causing an okies the list so far: SMCWUSB-G EZCONNECT 802.11g (ZD1215 chipset) check post #5 for driver Linksys WUSB100 (Ralink 2870) link a 64 bit driver is available link in post #23 WUSB54GC (RT2501USB) the ralink people will probably be the first out with a 64-bit driver for SL. RTL 8187L (The install will fail however reboot the driver and utility works, enable it in the network preference pane realtek one for 10.5 32 bit RTL8187B has reports of working flawlessly as well (try the link above the one for leopard should work) Netgear wg111V3 (RTL8187B) manually install netgear's driver D-Link WUA-1340 driver for 10.4 on their site reported working trendnet wireless N tew 664UB drivers are on the trendnet website (unknown chipset though) The non working so far: ZD1211 (the kexts puke up or don't load at all depending on the version I dunno why) Aerolite+ USB wireless adapter Again if someone knows of drivers that work post here!!!! don't spare details please Thanks terramir
rampancy
Hi I've been looking does anyone have a list of wifi usb cards that work in snow,if yours does please post here, post what driver what chipset etc. maybe we'll get a list going I'll edit this post as info comes in: Thanks terramir From my experiences with Warstrong's drivers for the WUSB54GC (I have the latest version right now, the black Cisco Systems-branded version 3 working great under 10.6.1), I'm willing to bet that for the most part, if a driver works in Leopard, it should work in Snow Leopard without any problems, the only caveat being that you'd have to be booting into the 32-bit kernel (unless they specifically say that they've written 64-bit drivers). hchinasky
The SMCWUSB-G EZCONNECT 802.11g works fine in snow with leopard drivers (only in 32bit mode) with ZD1215 driver.
terramir
Well it seems like there two functioning usb wireless cards in leopard, but then again the sad thing is no body else is saying anything need more options or drivers that actually work in snow for usb, right now can't get either my zydas 1211B cards (and I have 3) or my realtek 8187 to work in snow, anybody here got any options I could use to make this work help please terramir
hchinasky
In my case the SMCWUSB-G EZCONNECT 802.11g works with zydas 1215 driver. The zydas.zip file includes also 1211 driver and Wlan app to manage the usb dongle. Unzip the file and install the proper driver with kext utility. Place the wlan app in app or utilities folder. Reboot. See first if the zydas driver is loaded under system profile then go to net options and if it is not there create a new location and add the new interface (in my case appears as a usb 2.0 wlan). With Wlan configure your connection. zydas.zip
Reinert
Encore EWNUWI-G2, Realtek 8187B chipset, working flawlessly, 32bit only, though.

Sad to say the kext for the zd1211 won't load at all it's inside the folder, however the kext doesn't show up as one of the loaded extensions. so this one sad to say doesn't work unless I have to use an app that is different from the kext helper b7 nice to know that you verified that the zd1215 works I'll add it to the working list as generic as well terramir

rockingturtle
Zydas 1215 (on belkin) seems to work somewhat but is unstable (32 bit), at times it loses connection and when it does it even leads to OS crashing (kernel panics) or system becoming very slow or jammed. When it gets going correctly though, it works just fine. I have found plugging it in and connecting using Wlan utility is more stable if done after SL has completely loaded. Also, I had to delete the 1211 driver for the thing to work. Any ideas on how to fix the issues?

I had resorted back to drivers which I was using in Leopard. -Rock Have you tried a mixture of the two? like the driver from one the application from the other? play around with it, also there are some other drivers out there do a search on google maybe you can come up with something, let us know maybe your particular adapter will have to wait for other drivers, what brand and model is it? maybe your pci vend it id different and you'll have to edit the plist info file in the drivers in #5 to make it work for you. Those are the ideas I got terramir

I can't boot 32-bit for unknown reasons and not having a wireless connection is pissing me off I wish I had your problems I run it on an atom 270 so I ain't got no 64 bit , but it's strange since all of apples 64 bit drivers are written for 32 as well, so are most of the hackintosh stuff during your install you must have broke something. As for 64 bit drivers I dunno what kind of machine you got, you got to have at least a C2D or a desktop atom to run 64-bit so you should either be in a lappy with a C2D or a desktop, research the forums on what cards (except autheros their's only a 32 bit driver so far that you can brand as an apple wifi card, there should be naitive 64 bit drivers for those.
