epitaphic
Can also confirm update to 10.6.4 went fine using CruiSAr's install. Quick note to those with Mail extensions, Mail has been updated. If your extension doesn't have an update yet, you can follow this, fixes the incompatibility for now.

Asmodeus Dhoine
I have GA-EX58-UD4P with i7 920. I used this guide with this guide (for DSDT) and installed 10.6.3 onto my USB drive. I can boot from it but so far I was unable to actually boot into OS X because it stops booting saying that SMC was not found. I am very-very new to all this so maybe I missed something?.. I'm not sure. Would anyone give me a hand with this, please? I got DSDT from Ubuntu and the script is ran from OS X VM in Windows 7.

MAJ No, I meant - extensions.mkext. But apparently, it's created by updating caches. Now, I created it (Combo update, normal didn't work) but when I look at it contents using this script it doesn't list fakeSMC.kext. So, how do I include it there? Asmodeus Dhoine
OK, here's an interesting thing: I used mkextMaker, dragged Stored_Kexts onto in, it created Extensions.mkext size 381Kb and THAT allowed me to boot into SL! I even had sound but no network whatsoever. So, from SL I ran Super Combo updater and DSDT patcher - and next boot failed due to HPET absence. Anyway, it looks like the script really does skip those kexts in Misc_Patches. How do I build a cache with necessary kexts for network and other stuff AND facesmc? UPDATE: I put back working DSDT and tried to boot with that new cache. Boot said that sound assertion failed (AppleHDA) and stopped after listing my hard drives. Didn't get to the part about SMC. If yes then updating the bootcaches should automatically add it to your extensions.mkext Okay, just a correction: Running Update boot caches will NOT add the kexts from the script's folder to /Extra. All it does it update the cache based on what's presently in the /Extra folder. (kexts in _For_System will get installed into S/L/E when running boot caches, however.) Run Kext/Kernel Installer to install any kexts from the script's folder to /Extra. MAJ

digital_dreamer
Yes, the /Extra boot cache is built from any kexts in "Stored_Kexts" (but not _For_System). So, if it's present in Stored_Kexts, you can run "Update boot caches" to create one. If it is not present there, you'll need to drop one in and run "Update boot caches" or run the Kext/Kernel Installer to install one there (provided it's in the script's folder). MAJ Well, it is there, but again - Update Boot Caches doesn't work for me. Does this have to be run on actual hardware? Because I do this from VM. Or, do I even need any other kexts in this Extensions.mkext if I can boot already?
Sidewinder33
Hey DD, Love the final version of the script works like a champ. Edit: Got 10.6.4 up and going I had to use the combo update but now everything is up and running great.
