I want to install OS X on my P5N-D nForce 750i Motherboard...

I try installing Kalyway 10.5.2, and iAtkos v2.0i

I manage to get kalyway to fully install but afterward it constantly restart or show the white apple loading screen then show an X.

 

with iAtkos... i manage to boot into installation screen where you choose your language... but then it freeze and nothing else.

 

I've tried everything!!! all kernel, drivers, patch, and nothing and i see that people with the same motherboard had succeed but somehow i cant!!!

To install Snow Leopard, you will first need to have a working Leopard OS X system installed first so that you can understand your system requirements...........so go to my Leopard nForce thread and start by reading post #1 slowly and carefully as it contains much information, including setting up the correct BIOS settings for OS X and why a PATA (IDE) DVDRW is recommended, kernel options, etc......I will answer your questions on Leopard if you post them in the Leopard thread........... :censored2:

Verdant, debug doesn't show anything. When my computer freezes the screens are off and I can't wake them (since it's frozen) or I am doing something like browsing the internet and it freezes out of nowhere. I never see any debug screen or anything You said it should show up on the desktop, but I usually have a window open...

That sounds like a system kernel panic rather than an app kernel panic.........

 

If you have two working OS X systems installed on your PC (as I always recommend), then boot into one system and download the standalone 10.6.4 Combo Update .dmg Installer.........run it and select the non-booted OS X system volume as your install location.........then do the same again, this time booting from the now 10.6.4 updated OS X system volume..........

...and I finally managed to install Leopard 1.5.6 on my PC. I suggest to use iPC 1.5.6, since others did not work for me, it was the only one to work on the first install.

 

Give it a try and let me know if you have any problems, I will tell you exactly what kexts I install along with iPC 1.5.6.

 

Now I'm stuck trying to install Snow Leopard; I'm carefully reading and following this brilliant guide, but for some reason it won't boot (black screen with flashing cursor...nothing else).

Well I took the risk and installed the combo update from my running OS. It was successful, but I guess I just have to wait and see if I ever get freezing anymore...By the way, I was already at 10.6.4

Now, do I have to install a bootloader (Chameleon or PC_EFI) on the hdd in order to make it boot properly? Is it "PART D" of the guide that I have to follow now, right? Does it refer to installing FROM the USB installer created in Part C, TO an empty hdd?

Just finished installing...and surprisingly (for me) all went well. I could eventually solve the problems with my nvidia 9800GT 1gb (it caused artifacts on Leopard). But...now I'm having random crashes after about 4-5 minutes using Snow Leopard...

If you are using Chameleon boot file, use arch=i386, but if using PC_EFI boot file in place of the original Chameleon boot file, you can use arch=i386 or -x32 from v10.3 onwards, whereas for PC_EFI pre-v10.3, use -x32

If repairing permissions does not improve matters, then running the standalone 10.6.4 Combo Update installer will hopefully "clean" up the OS X system..........

4) As for Win7 HDD issue, from post #1 in this thread:

So be sure that you disconnect all your Windows hard drives before installing OS X Snow Leopard and then reconnect after the installation is complete.

 

As for 8GB RAM issue, if you installed any one of:

 

AppleNForceATA.64AnV.kext/

AppleNForceATA.AnV.kext/

AppleNForceATA.slash.kext/

 

in /Extra/Extensions/ on the HDD SL OS X volume before installing OS X and boot the HDD, then it should not be an issue.......
