Please, reupload the files (Snow_Support_Files_V2.2.zip especially) to another site like MediaFire. I can't download anything from rapidshare, so i'm stuck.

And... There is one problem. The guide says:

So, later in

/Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist and in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

find:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>-x32</string>

and change it to

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>arch=i386</string>

I dont have any com.apple.Boot.plist or Preferences folder in Library so far in my thumb driver after installing Chameleon v2.0 RC1 (the thumb drive was formatted just before the installation of Chameleon).

Oh, do you have any idea if it's going to work on my comp (see the signature for details)?

You will have that folder AFTER you extract and copy the Retail Snow Leopard DVD image (iso/dmg) onto the USB drive and that file is included in the Snow Support files package. I was a bit confused at first as well, but after reading through the guide further, it made sense. I would upload the package to Mediafire, but I don't have Verdant's permission to start distributing his package and I don't want to risk ruffling any feathers. I have been a HUGE fan of Mysticus C and Verdant ever since I started "hackintoshing" my machine in 2008. Last thing I want to do is upset them. I have to say thanks once again for all the help in getting the latest leopard working on the same old system. Every time it's time to update; I just have to hunt for a new thread or an update to one that already exhists from these guys, and sure enough... I'm up to date. Thanks again, Verdant!

As for the guide working on your system... i see no reason why it shouldn't. I have a EVGA 780i with 4 gigs of ram and a 8800GTS (even a ATI 5870 in another slot - no support for them yet). Working great so far. Good luck.

@ Igorsz91

Why is it that you cannot download from Rapidshare........it always offers a free download option......?

I really do not want to have to service multiple upload sites.........having only one download provider enables me to properly support my uploaded files......

@ Edwardzracing

Glad to help........

For installing Snow Leopard, follow the guide in this thread......for Leopard see my Series 7 nForce chipset thread and my blog install guide for iPC10.5.6....... :(

Use the Chameleon 2.0 RC3 or RC4 bootloader (or Chameleon 2.0 with the PCI_EFI 10.5 bootloader).......see how in the Snow Leopard guide.....

I get Kernel panic after loading (?) kexts (the moment when the grey screen with an apple should appear).

dsc03157.th.jpg

I try to install from a USB flash drive to a GPT HDD (so i follow the parts A, B, C and D).

I think it's a problem with NullCPUPowerManagement.kext not loading properly. What bootloader are you using?

I haven't tried RC4 yet, but I know RC3 works OK.

I've installed SL and it works perfectly!

after 5 hours of 'testing' i decided to change my whole pc to mac ;) no more windows for me.

I'v a asus p5n32-e sli plus, with q6600, nvidia 8800gt.

i've installed the whole os on a test HDD, 160 GB sata.

I want to move it to my Intel Postville G2 80 GB SSD. Is this possible with a Hackintosh?

I have also a samsung f1 1tb drive.

I know that SL doesn't have TRIM support at the moment, but after some searching on the internet, i found a threat which said that garbish collection is ok. is this correct?

Many thanks goed to Verdant!

You can use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy all the files from your test HDD to your SSD and then re-install Chameleon on the SSD.

on my current osx86 harddisk i've created 2 partitions:

1 setup, 20 gb, second: 140 gb snowleopard

i considering 2 options:

a) dual boot for both windows 7 and osx86

;) clone partition 2 from osx86 to ssd only

2 possible problems:

my SSD is only 80 gb, so i think it's a little bit small for both os's? on the other hand, i will use windows 7 only for gaming, and i have a 1 tb data disk for big application, like games. so maybe win 7 is only 15 gb.

for osx86 it will be 65 - 10 = 55 (for underpartitioning because os doesn't support trim and therefore prevent degrading of the SSD

question: is 55 gb enough for the main OS? i can install more program's/data on the 1 tb disk, or my nas (3 tb)

;) what will happen if i chose to clone partion 2 to 1 disk (with only 1 partiion). i suppose sl won't boot anymore because the partitions are changed? or does this works totally different than windows and is it only a boot.plist change?

i know a lot about windows but still a noob for osx ;) but after 5 hours i decided to change totally to osx (after working 20 years on microsoft os :P

Snow Leopard is smaller than Leopard so 55GB should be enough.........it all depends on how you plan to use OS X.........

If you install Chameleon 2.0 RC3 or RC4 as the drive bootloader, it should see all bootable partitions (BTW OS X likes to be on a primary partition).....

BTW glad to help..... :)

thanks! so i can clone the disk to partition 1? i just installed a 32 bit virtual vmware fusion windows 7 setup :) works perfectly. i couldn't install a 64 bit version because i had to setup some bios settings, but i will check that out later. is it possible to enable the virtualisation in the bios? because last time my hackintosh won't boot ;)

maybe it's better to use the whole disk for mac os, cause i can place the virtual machines also in the root of the ssd... hmm

As long as the volume you are cloning to is at least as large as the one you are cloning from.....

There should be no problem enabling Virtualisation in BIOS......?

you're right, i can use virtualisation now, weird. only firewire doesn't work, maybe a kext problem or so?

and i have to use your fix to get a faster boot time.

Do you recommend to underpartition the SSD drive? because SL doesn't support trim yet :)

Re SSD and OS X......see here.......perhaps it would be better to have OS X on a HDD........

Not sure about why your Firewire is not working......how does it show up in System Profiler when enabled in BIOS.....?

Glad my nForce SL guide worked for you first time....... :) I did not write about updating to 10.6.1 and 10.6.2 because Software Update should work without any problems (at least it has for me....)

For Ethernet, a 64bit kext, eno's nForceLAN.kext is available and for sound and video there are various options available.......64bit injector/EFI graphics string for video......and 64bit VoodooHDA/Legacy kext+DSDT.aml mods for sound.......

For nForce chipset MOBOs, the key kext that is still required is a 64bit/32bit universal version of slashack's AppleNForceATA that will enable 64bit or 32bit operation AND DVD+-R/DVD+-RW disc burning on any SATA DVDRW.......

For many sleep is still an issue........to be solved by DSDT.aml modding.....specific to each MOBO......
