Here is the full log if it is useful.

Good question, I have no idea.

I have tried booting with out NullCPUPowerManagement and the last few line in the log look like this, Is this better of worse?

Oct 1 16:38:28 Matthews-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: DSMOS has arrived
Oct 1 16:38:34 Matthews-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: NTFS driver 3.0 [Flags: R/W].

Oct 1 16:38:34 Matthews-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: NTFS volume name , version 3.1.

My screen looses signal after DSMOS has arrived

Why is there NFTS? I have a separate internal hard drive inside my machine with windows on it, do I need to get rid of it?

Hmm, if it loses signal that means it's trying to start the video driver. Do you have GraphicsEnabler=Yes in your com.apple.boot.plist? It should work fine for nvidia cards (and ati cards if you use netkas' pc efi 10.3 booter)

I have not touched the com.apple.boot.plist, I am using GTX 260, do I need to set it to yes, and dou you just add new Idem and "GraphicsEnabler" in key and and "Yes" in value?

Yes. There's an Extra.zip posted right above your first post that should work fine for your system.

I got it booting, There was a problem with my graphics card. (thank you Dojomann for pointing me in that direction.)

I switched my bois to all cores and HT and this is what I get when I boot.

It says that 8 are enabled and 8 disabled, should they all be enabled?

In system profiler it shows my CPU as unknown (I assume this is ok), and that there a 4 core. Should it say 8 cores because it is HT?

Here is the log for the cpu boot up

Thanks for the extra pack, I ended up using your DSDT file to get mine booting. Which file do I need for setting the system info to be correct?

I tried DJ kext but it didn't work. Does it need to be in S/L/E?

I put the value added,

<key>cpu-type</key>

<data>AQU=</data>

<key>interconnect-speed</key>

<data>gA6kXQEAAAA=</data>

should I get rid of the other data?

I've found that sometimes you need 2 reboots to get some kexts working, even when you've properly rebuilt your Extensions.mkext. That's why I initially had some kexts in /S/L/E, but it wasn't necessary.

Hit Tab at the boot screen to get the boot loader prompt and put -v -f in. Boot up and then reboot again to see if the CPUInjector kext loads properly.

If that doesn't work you can move it to /S/L/E

P.S. It will show as a Quad core Xeon, not an i7...but we're inching closer and closer to a full vanilla setup.

I get message

system uptime in nano seconds: ...

and it freezes, this happen when I boot -f

Mine boots fine with -f

Not sure why that would be unless you made changes to your /S/L/E before you rebooted. I know SleepEnabler.kext will cause a KP with the new Extra.zip I posted. -f ingores your boot caches and directly loads your kexts from /S/L/E, that's all.

DigitalDJ posted a new 1.1 version of his kext that should work in /E/E, give it a try. I remembered I manually edited the OSBundleRequired on mine.

Hi all,

just to confirm, was successful on my ASUS P6T Deluxe (v1) with the files posted above in post #123 (thanks to dgobe).

Everything is working in 64-bit mode apart of IDE DVD-RAM burner.

My hardware:

- ASUS P6T Deluxe

- core i7 920 @2.66Ghz

- 12 GB Kingston value ram 1066MHz (6*2GB)

- 3 SATA hard drives Samsung HD642JJ (3*640GB)

- 1 SATA DVD burner Pioneer 216D

- 1 IDE DVD-RAM burner Panasonic SW-9576 (Mat{censored}a, cartridge slot) ==> not working in 64-bit mode

- Asus 138g wireless card (Broadcom 4318)

- Powercolor ATI Radeon 4850

I do not have any SAS drives therefore not know whether it is working.

For firewire: I will check with my Panasonic DV-cam and report later.

Shutdown/Sleep/Wake-up all working fine

The Snow Leo install was not modified at all apart of installing of 4850-fix from netkas.org:

http://netkas.org/?p=212

Important hint for all:

- please do the 1st start after you build your Snow-system using options "-v -f" in order to rebuild extensions.mkext. In case your graphic card is not working use the VESA mode by adding option "-x"

cheers

By the way, after more extensive testing of my rig, I can say this:

The booting hangs at one of three places, "Waiting for DSMOS", something about firewire not finding a security mode and defaulting to full secure, or "SystemShutdown=no" (or something like that, at least). It does NOT hang indefinitely, but when it does load (I cannot say for sure when it does, because I kind of just left it there), it it so slow that it literally takes like 20 seconds to load the password-typing screen when you click on a username, and when you type your password just sits there with the Snow Leopard desktop and no menu bar or dock.

Please, does anybody know what's causing this?

Hi BLARGiAMdEAD

After much googling and searching the forum, did you end up finding a solution?

As I am having the exact same problem with the hanging on "Waiting for DSMOS" and the systemShutdown=false taking like 5 minutes until Snow Leopard loads up.

Thanks

That sounds like you have the wrong dsdt.aml. If you have the CPU Aliases still in there it will be very slow like that. All of the dsdt.aml that have been posted in this thread should have that patched already.

You can look at the Leopard install thread here:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=144639

It contains the instructions in the first post, step E

Hi I am new to this hackintosh, so can some one help me?

My system:

mobo: Asus P6T Deluxe V2

Process: i7 920

Graphics card: 9800 gtx+

Memory: CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) Model TR3X6G1600C7 (7-7-7-20)

HDD (SATA): WD 1 TB with 3 partition: 1). Windows 7 2). Apple (SL will be installed here) 3). Shared

Disk Drive (SATA): Plextor PX-B320SA Blu Ray Combo

I read all of the 8 pages and i got following understanding:

Just Combine post # 1, 80, 116, and 123 and i should be fine

Can someone be kind enough to write new step by step from combining the posts listed above?

Thanks,

Hi guys.

Got Snow installed in my Asus P6T Deluxe V2 with GTX 260. Seems to be working fine except for one minor quirk.

--> When I boot into Snow, after the apple logo, I get that light blue screen, at first I thought it was hanging or something so I pushed the power button and to my surprise, the system went into sleep, then I pushed the power button once more, and voila, desktop appears and system works as expected.

Has anybody experienced this? I used dgobe's files and used PC EFI 10.3 boot file as well. I also used gfxutil to generate the string for my graphics card (GTX 260).

I tried clearing the cache and removing the NV*.kexts (moved to a backup folder) and then rebooted, the system booted just fine but without hardware acceleration. And I tried putting back the NV*.kext files, and rebooted again, I got the same issue as before (had to put the machine to sleep to get to the desktop)

Thanks a lot :D

My files have GraphicsEnabler=yes in com.apple.Boot.plist so using a device property string isn't necessary for your card. You should use one or the other not both.

See if that does anything....you shouldn't have to mess with your kexts, vanilla NVidia files will work.

Thanks dgobe for the very quick response. Actually I set it up only using your files but after installing Snow, I only got a black screen and music, I could also see/move my mouse but not other graphics on the screen, ended up using gfxutil and it worked. I'll try to do as you suggested later tonight.

Thanks
