lowdrewl
Hi Nandor690, SUCCESS!!!!!!!! I was able to boot off USB to Lion install with the help you provided me I have a couple of of remaining questions? Here is a little background of how I got it to work: I did things a little different then your videos, I followed your procedure to have all the LION installation files copied onto a USB. I then ran Tony Hacks Mutilbeast you had uploaded on the same USB and made it bootable. In ##### I just checked the option to install bootloader chimera (I just guessed here). After that I was able to boot to the USB. I ran the Lion installation and installed the OS to the hard drive. This part worked. Once the installation was complete, I rebooted and I could only boot the hard drive by first booting off of the USB drive. Obviously since I did not run a bootloader on the newly installed hard drive. I now have to make the hard drive bootable. What options should I be checking during the ##### installer/loader? I would like to have LION OS 64 BIT running. Also what files should be installed into the extra folders on the hardrive? I did attempt to apply ##### to the hard drive and it does boot. Its only running in 32 BIT mode. I have no LAN, AUDIO so I am assuming I didnt choose the correct options and my KEXTS are not loading. To make this work I installed the same files in the extras folder as you did in your video and copied to the hard drive. 64 bit com.apple.boot simbios.plist Generic DSDT (cuz I got a Quad Core DUO 8300) Created Extenstions folder inside Extra folder and added only fakesmc kext. Do I need to set permission on the Extra and Extenstions folders? I just drag and drop those folders to my newly created Lion hard drive. Thanks again for all of your time helping me with this

You will need to download "KextUtility" and use that to fix permissions after you add the 2 plugins to Lion. To get audio working, find the LegacyHDA.kext in the kext folder in the download i gave you and put that kext in /System/Library/Extensions in the Lion hard drive and then fix permissions with kextutility. you will also have to run the 10.6.2AppleHDAinstall.pkg, which you can find on this website. after that finishes restart your computer and you should have Lan and audio working your /Extra folder should look something like this to have 64 bit you should put the 64 bit com.apple.boot.plist in the /Extra folder. also since i don't have a dsdt for 8300 just put the generic dsdt in the /Extra folder.to get Lan to work you will have to get 2 plugins from the IONetworkingFamily.kext from OS X Snow Leopard. these plugins are, AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext and AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext. you can find them by going to the snow leopard drive and follow path /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext, right click on that kext and "Show all Contents, then go in the /Contents/Plugins, and copy the 2 plugins above to the same location in OS X Lion. EDIT*** Also as far as Lan goes, Do you see the Ethernet option in SystemPreferences/Network? Or is it blank?
oSxFr33k
Same exact problem. USB hang during boot following the procedures in the link the user stated. Any idea guys? Thanks in advance. It took me a half day to figure out what was going on with the USB causing the Bios Post to freeze. Any Chaneleon above v1000 needs to be installed on the EFI partition of the USB and not the root of the USB if you want it to boot.
nandor690
I have had the same problems trying to boot from a usb! So what I do (since I have multiple internal hard drives) Is format a piece of a hard drive that Lion will not be installed on (Installer will NOT let you install the OS on the same hard drive as the installer is on) boot into chameleon like you normally would but choose the partition that you restored MAC OS X BaseSystem to then install!! Do you mean the AppleHDA from 10.6.8 exchange it for the one in Lion? Is there any other kext needed to make audio work? I already have an edited DSDT for the device (HDEF). I just helped someone else with rev 1.4 get audio so I know that my method works for that rev. Do you have Voodoo PreferencePane still installed in SystemPreferences? If so uninstall that and my method will work. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=P0GFEPZ2 here is the rollback and my LegacyHDA.kext. Hi Nandor690, Audio is now working Thank you again for all of your help, thank you for creating the 3 part youtube videos. (Just so you know, I watched those 3 parts videos about 10 times each ) no lie) Also for all the information, files and assistance you have provided... it has ann been invaluable to me! The only thing I have left to do is make my magic mouse work ) Im not sure thats ever gonna happen but I purchased one not knowing how difficlult it is to get a Bluetooth dongle to work correctly on a Hackintosh. I just ordered this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002K6RK0 if it doesnt work I will just give up. As a side note I never got 64 bit Lion to work. I think its my video card, I was using an old 7600GT card I had lying around. I was planning on using the GT430 fermi I bought but it was always a blank screen. I dont really need 64 bit, works fine the way it is. Anyways....... I will update here if I get the mouse working.

lowdrewl
Good news regarding 10.7.1: Update works without any problems. Rollback of AppleHDA is needed - as always. I just upgraded from 10.7 to 10.7.2. Rollback of AppleHDA is needed. I had one issue which I am not sure if it was present before the upgrade. The issue is with Safari. If I open a new Safari browser and load a page everything is ok.. Upon minimizing that page, doing some other task and then returning to that existing browser session creates a problem. After the existing browser session is resumed the web page content is blank. The URL is still listed and any attempt to reload the page results in a spinning colored pin wheel. Got error this is a valid Apple ID but not an iCloud ID. but if you use this fix it will work: A boot loader update And a Network configuration reset The boot loader is the new Chameleon Revision 2.1 from Kexts.com with the iCloud and Facetime fix over here: http://www.kexts.com/view/1941-chameleon_2.1_r1627vs_[icloud__facetime_fix].html so one you have downloaded that mount the image and run the installer Don’t reboot. No sound but it shows in System info as intel HD audio. Sound preference pane does not see any device. Since I've had no luck i would absolutely appreciate it if you would send me the files.Everything else works perfect Try these files http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LTPNJQA0 1. install the HDAEnabler.kext i supplied in S/L/E 2. run the Kext Utility to fix file permissions (give this plenty of time to complete, if you get an error don't worry it works) 3. run the 10.6.2 AppleHDinstaller.pkg then reboot.... not sure if you need to but I always do. Please make sure you have a USB jump drive or some other way to boot if something goes wrong. Hope this helps!

Shows up in Sys info but not in prefs. I think my choice at this point is to either reinstall lion and then try it on a clean install or to use USB audio. I'm one of those people who dont like to give up. I was not familiar with creating a customdsdt and found one that worked with the exception of sound. I wonder if the dsdt needs to be edited or if its something else. Just not looking forward to rebuilding from scratch.
