alparras
hi guys! i have an AMD notebook, with VIA chipset, only IDE ports. HD and CD writer works right, but when i upgrade my CD writer to a DVD writer, Leopard not detect the new unit. ATA ports are listed in System profiler, but not DVD drive. systemprofiler.tiff DVD drive works on Linux and Windows. DVD drive is a Optiarc AD-7590A and manufacturer web page says is compatible with mac os, because is a ATAPI unit. Sorry for any mistake, i'm dont speak english. SOLVED finally, i find a solution for my drive. i got the IDE Changing Tool from optiarc website, and: change IDE mode, from Normal to Reverse. Reboot and set Drive as Secondary Master on BIOS. Boot into OS X and voila!, drive is recognized!! systemprofiler_ok.tiff Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182356-solved-cd-drive-works-new-dvd-drive-not/ Share on other sites
