doc32
Sorry, I forgot to boot with -v -x32. I've got another KP when it asking me for account details. I'm trying, right now, with a new install and a nem dsdt compil. I'll tell you on the next post what happened. Thanks. EDIT : It's the same with the new install. meatfork
I've followed this guide multiple times and can't seem to get it to work for Snow Leopard. I've got a radeon 4870, so I skipped the efi string, and also used PC EFI 10.5 for that. I've installed the kexts as instructed, and I made my own DSDT through the instructions... I do have a EP45-UD3R as well, but with Core2Duo E8400. I've tried every imaginable boot flag I could find, but still it can't boot up. I kernel panic with: ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out panic(cpu 1 caller 0xffffff80002cbf74): Kernal trap at 0xffffff7f80d56db7, type 13=general protection Kernel Extentinos in backtrace looks like AppleTyMCEDriver BSD process name corresponding to the current thread: kernel_task I'm not sure what info is helpful up there, but I have no way to capture the screen for that. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do here?

Awesome, that stopped that KP. Now I'm getting a couple of Sound Asserts from AppleHDA and then it just hangs indefinitely.... [update:] Removing the AppleHDA.ktext causes the asserts to go away, but it still is just hanging. Looks like I don't have any output on why it's hanging. Not sure how to debug that further... Looks like it's my video card... its a non-reference ATI 4870. I tried using PC EFI 10.5 and I've tried ATY_Init and ATINDRV, nothing seems to work.. I get KP try to boot for the first time using -f -x32, any one have this problem too? Said something about APCI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::Start - waitForService(res........ time out. Here's my spec if it make any different: q6600 @3.6, EP45-UD3R, 4GB @800, OCZ 60GB SSD (where SL installed). Thanks OP for leading me this far

Yeah I didn't mean to be so aggressive lol, but injector kexts just cause more problems. The idea is to really get as close to a "Vanilla" install as possible. That means the fewer the kexts you need to put in /E/E, the better (and the less breakable your install is). You should NEVER have to put kexts in /S/L/E. marinn
i'm using asus nvidia en9400gt silent 512mb. cant find it in the efistudio. anyone use the same gc like me? edited : i find out other question to d00m.. from the how to patch dsdt pdf file, you ask to copy the network code to the end of device (pex4/pex5). can you tell me where to put the code? how it should look like? sorry i cant get that one. successfuly installed audio n graphic on my hackintosh. seems my ps2 keyboard not work with that. ok rite now i'm using default com.apple.boot.plist for the graphic provided. it's nvdia 9800. mine is 9400 which i cant find the hardware list from the efistudio. if i try to change the resolution, it show blue screen and i cant get out of it. so i logged in using efi boot loader with unmodified snow leopard installation. If you still haven't found, here's the string: CODE 6c0200000100000001000000600200000d00000002010c00d041030a010000000101060000010101 060000007fff04000e0000004e00560050004d0000002000000001000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000220000005600520041004d002c0074006f00740061006c00730069 007a006500000008000000000000201c0000006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650 000000f0000004e5644412c506172656e740e0000006e0061006d00650000000b000000646973706c 617922000000400030002c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b0000006 46973706c617922000000400031002c006400650076006900630065005f0074007900700065000000 0b000000646973706c6179100000006d006f00640065006c0000001a0000006e56696469612047654 66f726365203934303020475420000000400031002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c00 650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d616314000000400030002c006e0061006d006500000012000 0004e5644412c446973706c61792d4114000000400031002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e 5644412c446973706c61792d4220000000400030002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c0 0650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d6163100000004e0056004300410050000000180000000400 0000000003000c00000000000007000000001e00000072006f006d002d00720065007600690073006 9006f006e0000002e0000006e5669646961204765466f7263652039343030204754204f70656e474c 20456e67696e65205b4546495d I use the XFX 9400gt 512mb, and this works

If you get the liquid ripple effect, then your graphics should be working fine. Yes, you have to put that string into the device-properties key in com.apple.Boot.plist, and make sure it's in the right place in your /E folder. od3n
ok. just trying to install again using usb drive install. works great with sound, graphic and internet when i boot from the usb. after i install chameleon on sl disk and do all the setup for the drive, remove the usb and try reboot again but with no working graphic. also, when boot from the usb, they show all my partitions from the disk. but when boot from the sl disk, only the sl partition appear. d00m42
Slightly unrelated, but... ...I just wanted to let you guys know that I successfully installed SL on my dad's Asus P6T Deluxe v2 i7 920 system, and the ONLY issue I ran into was that because he installed Vista without AHCI on, I can't change that now in the BIOS (otherwise Vista won't boot). Because AHCI is off, SL doesn't detect any of his internal drives (2 SATA DVD, 2 SATA HD, and 1 IDE HD). When I turn AHCI on, SL detects all of the drives, although the icons are orange rather than the silver that they should be, although I KNOW that's easily fixable). Everything seems to work though, GFX, sound, ethernet, sleep, all 4 cores + c states/speedstep etc. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try the new DSDT/kexts on my machine yet, as I have to make sure that I modify the DSDT for C2D correctly. It's 5 minutes to midnight here, so I might have a chance tomorrow or later this week.

See: "HOWTO: enable AHCI mode after installing Windows": http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=444831 Yeah I saw that, but it's my dad's system, and he was weary about me installing OS X because he feared that I would damage his computer/OS (even though I unplugged all of his drives with data on them, AND installed SL to an external USB drive so it wouldn't mess with bootloaders or anything). It's doubtful that he will let me mess with the registry (the config file in that guide is for an 975X board anyway, and the P6T Deluxe v2 has a different chipset).
