Slow OpenGL performance in Snow Leopard

For those who fixed the issue by using the DVI port 1:

what you have just done, I reckon, is changing the display from monitor 2 to monitor 1; so, your SL thought you were using 2 displays, so when you put the display in port 1 the graphics support works better...that or, SL just doesn't have full support for both DVI-s...

this happened to me also when i was using Leopard.

Or you just didnt do well with the EFI string.. you know you can choose DVI1+DVI2 later in the process.

BTW I have a Zotac 8800GT which has only one DVI working (other gives no output, even in BIOS) I hope it will be the right one. If it is not and I have slow perf issues is there any other way to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi

My results in 64 bit (4870) went up ~ 5% - see my previous post

(I was using ATY_init originally in 32 bit now using PC EFI v10.3 on 64 bit)

189 in 32 bit for the benchmark with ATY_init, 199 in 64 bit with PC EFI

219 in full screen mode in 32bit , 228 with 64 bit PC EFI

What would you expect for a radeon 4870?

regards

Steve

Thanx.... using ur efi string inadvertently fixed a problem i had with geekbench crashing on me

now it works!

My efi string looked nothing like yours..... i used aquamacs method

BTW OpenGL went up a couple points but nothing spectacular....

hmm i still cant stop geekbench from crashing ive tried about 6 or 7 different efi strings and injectors

its something related to QE/CI or open gl because without it enabled it works fine

also final cut is crashing in log and transfer i also believe that open gl is suspect since it only happens in sl
