I'm having the same problem as you, i just updated and my audio won't work! i tried installing the kext again but that did nothing. can someone explain what's going on with this? EDIT: Nevermind, got it to work thanks!

brockraum
Well the 1515 wireless card works with this laptop, and audio works with 10.6.3 with my applehda patch. Yes, I am aware that it does work with 10.6.3, but my audio did not work with the applehda patch, not sure what the problem was, but it's working now under 10.6, which is good enough for me to run what I need to run, thanks again. lennyG
You didn't say what cpu you have, but 6x to 10x is probably correct. No, the vid voltage values in the p-state table are wrong with voodoomonitor, and it mis-reports states with multipliers less than 6x. Maybe something like http://codykrieger.com/gfxCardStatus/ would turn off the 9500m. Maybe this is helpful...? I don't understand the details, though. I believe you are familiar with this. PLEASE check this out. (post #10) http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4 BTW, codykrieger updated gfxCardStatus with 9400m/9600m GT support! But.. console message shows no matching drivers found.. though it says NVIDIA GEForce 9600M GT in use.
kelobb
bcc9 - Thanks for this howto! I've just tried my version of 1340 and here are my results: - graphics - nv 9400M (native support from sl) - ethernet, webcam, firewire also without problems - bluetooth works with your kext What works, but with mu customizations: - wireless card is broadcom card (dell, id 0x4315, but after added pcimatch works ok but only b/g, maybe changing second airport kext will do the job) - any help ? - sound card works well with latest voodoohda (ver.2.6.2b2 - more i/o, hdmi (not yet tested)) from project osx, old voodoohda generate bad quality, but the newest build is ok - sometimes sleep don't work - any ideas (dsdt??) - also eject key do not work - small problem... - sdhc card reader with latest vooodoosdhc not working Any new ideas? New dsdt version? Regards,
NoorW
Hi, I'd like to try the MAC OS before I buy a macbook. I have a Dell 1340, but I do not know how to begin. I have downloaded OSX 10.6.3 retail DMG. and boot132.iso. I am a big beginner. He would not want someone to make a video tutorial. . My English is terrible, I apologize for it. (post #10) http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4 Yes, the solution I came up with for this hardware is based upon such information. I see nothing new there. I think the dsdt solution I've made is superior to an injector-based solution. BTW, codykrieger updated gfxCardStatus with 9400m/9600m GT support! But.. console message shows no matching drivers found.. though it says NVIDIA GEForce 9600M GT in use. That would seem to be because the AppleGraphicsControl kext is not running. You could try loading it manually. I don't have a 9500m so somebody else needs to own this and/or ask codykrieger for help.
0mie
I bet I am missing something SIMPLE...I just can't get 10.6.3 to load =/ I made a partition to load 10.6.3, then I used disk utility to restore it. Used the boot132 cd to boot, it won't detect the 10.6.3 to install it. I can't get past that =/ I am trying 10.6 retail, I am thinking that's my issue. I hope it's something simple, because 10.5 took me zero time to get it up and running, I've been trying 10.6 for a few days with 0 success Here is what I am doing...what am I missing or what am I doing wrong? =/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT3SC2tdbs8

If you had, it would auto-mount under 10.5.8, as if you'd inserted a retail DVD, and you'd see the standard installer window popup: Speaking of which, since you have 10.5.x running, you could also run the installer and install 10.6.x fresh to a new partition, without using a boot132 cd. I reference an example of the procedure I initially used for that in post #1. On the other hand the boot-cd procedure is supposed to be easy and is well ironed out at this point. 0mie
I just need audio and I'll be set, I can't for the LIFE of me get it to work I think I've exhausted all my options, step by step anyone? Maybe stupid proof =/ lol My DVD drives works one boot and not another, what might be the issue there? Also I've noticed if a DVD is left inside and I eject it works every time, but if there is nothing there the DVD won't even load inside 0_o seems odd to me. kelobb
Hello, get latest build of voodohda from http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?...=483&st=600 and install kext, remove applehda.kext, update cache, reboot and enjoy sound! regards
bcc9
- sound card works well with latest voodoohda (ver.2.6.2b2 - more i/o, hdmi (not yet tested)) from project osx, old voodoohda generate bad quality, but the newest build is okNice find, I had nearly given up on voodoohda after the audio distortion bugs had gone on so long. Amazing that the fix was in linux&freebsd all along and the bug fix for voodoohda:http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/issues/detail?id=52 had been collecting dust since last fall too. So *both* the built-in and mic jack are working with voodoohda 2.6.2. Some problems: The right headphone jack doesn't work (neither mutes the speakers nor passes audio) The max volume is not 100% (I think this might be fixable with the prefpanel additions)
0mie
I FINALLY have audio with the posted kext. I had a modified 10.6.2 AppleHDA.kext that worked 1 day and after reboot stopped working. I have rebooted with new kext and audio still works. But HDMI source says there is no output controls. We are a step closer, still no working SD card reader though

But you have to make sure permissions are ok and rebuild your Extensions cache. This can all be accomplished by using a tool called "pfix". Partitions are WIN7/OSX/UBUNTU10 These are the Kexts that are in my /E/E folder using pfix at any change I make; AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext fakesmc.kext HDAIDT.kext OpenHaltRestart.kext VoodooBattery.kext VoodooPowerAcpi.kext VoodooPS2Controller.kext Closing and opening the lid work great. Halts and restarts with lid impressively much better than any windows install I have ever seen. CPU-X worked in 10.5 to tell me speedstep. In 10.6.3 the multiplier no longer moves and stays locked in CPU-X. But it feels like there is less heat generated when not on wall power. The only thing I modified in the s/l/e folder was the HDaudio kext to use HDAIDT.kext with instructions I found in this thread. UPDATE Voodomonitor works great for monitoring you systems speedstep. I checked and speedstep is working.

When OSX is loading I hear sound and can adjust volume and as soon as everything is done booting, the volume is greyed out and doesn't work anymore Start troubleshooting. Check your logs, check whether one of the kexts unloaded. BTW, you can use AppleHDA on this laptop with any version of 10.6: 10.6, 10.6.1 thru 10.6.3. Provided that you just follow the instructions in post #1. I recommend this over voodoohda as the voodoo code isn't setting the max gain appropriately. And obviously that beta version of voodoohda is way less tested than the official driver from apple.
