560
Hi there, What I have at the moment: A PC with two drives - one with a couple of installs of Windows on, and the other with two partitions, the first of 300GB of data, the second, 200GB, blank. This is what I plan on installing to, the second partition of the second disk (located at SATA-1). The PC's using a Q6600, which I understand to be very suitable. A 16GB USB stick A retail 10.5.6 install disc as a .dmg file. My question is, is it possible to install from the USB stick without using a blank DL, and without trashing either disk 0 (I can just unplug it, I guess?) or the first partition of disk 1? And all that without at any point using 'Disk Utility', as I don't have access to a Mac. Cheers! raybond25
Is this not possible, then? I'm not sure about .dmg, but if it works the same way as an iso, then the instructions here worked for me using XP, didn't work on windows 7 and i did not try on windows vista Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181085-install-from-usb-stick-without-a-current-mac/#findComment-1233055 Share on other sites
