Sumanitu Taka Nagi
I don't know, I didn't install a video driver as you requested? Should I go ahead and install the ATI HD Driver since my video card is an ATI HD card? or should I do the Nvidia GT as you hinted before?

No, the Nvidia GT was a typo (I am so used to dealing with posters using nVidia rather than AT GFX cards.....LOL).......with an ATI GFX card you should try the new Natit Enabler..... Sumanitu Taka Nagi
alright, I'll try and take another one, BTW, since it seems to be a one on one conversation in this thread if you use them, perhaps we can take this to an Instant Messenger. It may be more convienent than making frequent posts. Screenshot v2

Sumanitu Taka Nagi
Should I just format that partition and start over with the firs toptions you mentioned except do different ACPI and PS2 options? Or should I just keep running the install and add different potpions to the current install?

Or should I just keep running the install and add different potpions to the current install? It may save time in the long run to do a clean install with changed ACPI and PS/2 options...... Also if you have a Kalyway 10.5.2 Install DVD available, try booting the DVD with: -v -x cpus=1 maxmem=2048 platform=ACPI|86PC -legacy If you boot into the Installer OK, then in Customize choose: Fonts and Languages [Your choice] Kernel [kernel_922_modbin] Graphics and Audio Drivers [None] Network Drivers [None] Mobo Chipset [Default choice i.e. all] Thirds Application [Your choice] Patches -> Hardcoded SMBIOS [AppleSMBIOS-27-Default] No other selections under Patches Others Patches -> [TimeMachineFix] AMD 10.5.2 Patches -> [AMD_1052_Patch_test_1] If you are able to install successfully, then boot with -v -f..... Sumanitu Taka Nagi
No no, that screenshot was after I did a clean isntall with ATKOS and tried a different ACPI and PS2, I have Kalyway, but I couldn't get it to boot, when it tries to auto-load it simply restarts the system, and when I tried using the flags and options you listed for booting it -v -x etc....it went into verbos but it still ended up restarting at the end. By the way, while typing your command, on my computer in the command prompt instead of a vertical bar, I got a vertical break? I think it's called, not sure if that makes a difference. You could try with Kalyway -v -x cpus=1 maxmem=2048 platform=X86PC -legacy modbin or -v -x cpus=1 maxmem=2048 platform=X86PC -legacy or -v -x cpus=1 maxmem=2048 platform=86PC -legacy BTW see here..... Using -v -x cpus=1 maxmem=2048 platform=86PC -legacy got into Kalyway installer on: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ ATI Radeon HD 4670 OR ATI Radeon HD 4850 ASUS M2N-68-AM MB with nVidia chipset Sata HDD and optical drive. Sumanitu Taka Nagi
Okay I tried those options and got all restarts after loading for a little while, then I clicke don your link and used the options that had -x and -legacy flags removed and got nothing but restarts. However, when -x and -legacy were removed it quikcly restarted as the case when simplying clicking any key and letting it auto boot with no flags specified. I have a pdf of my laptop's manual but it's a bit too big 3MB, I can email it to you or something if you want to look.

Sumanitu Taka Nagi
It doesn't appear so. The only even similar sounding options is the POWER NOW option, and it's already enabled. In the description it says POWER NOW enables the creation of ACPI objects.

verdant
I see...that sounds like a permanant problem :/ I had a look at your BIOS settings options.....they are very restricted and shown none of the parameters I would hope to see and be able set like AHCI mode etc..... You have: North Bridge ATI RX781M South Bridge ATI SB700 although there is a ATI SB700 driver for OS X..........it does not look very hopeful because you have the new AMD Puma Support Processor.....see here in post #7......sorry..... verdant
I see, well thanks for your assistance. i have a Desktop but it's AMND Phenom Quad core,a nd I here Quadcore AMD is even harder for Mac, so that doesn't sound very promising either :/ Even with an AMD Phenom Quad CPU you may still stand a chance because your Desktop BIOS is much less likely to be crippled....... The Voodoo kernel supports almost all recent, and many not-so-recent processors. The list of processors the kernel has been tested on includes : Intel® processors: AMD® processors: • Pentium 4 / D / M • Athlon 64 and X2 • Celeron • Phenom • Core Solo / Duo • Opteron • Core 2 range • Sempron • Atom and e.g. LawlessPPC 10.5.4 for AMD, iPC 10.5.6, iATKOS v4.0a for AMD which are for AMD CPU systems, as well as others such as iDeneb..... And obviously, other people running AMD CPU MOBOS will be able to help you much more and better than I.... Best wishes verdant
