neo121 Posted August 8, 2009 Share Posted August 8, 2009 hi all i have mac os x 10.5.5 and the copy name is ( iatkos 5i ) and computer specs in my signature i need to update my system to 10.5.8 , i've downloaded the combo update but it gives me an error ( the following install step failed: run preinstall script for macosxupdcombo10.5.8. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. ) i can manage my way through installation and setting up my apps but i have no experience editing the system files so please help !!! justincase1 Posted August 14, 2009 Share Posted August 14, 2009 I think its 10.5.5 or 5.6 causing issues. I tried to do it from 10.5.7 and works brilliant with netkas solution [installed iDeneb 10.5.6 then Retail Restored with 10.5.6 then Combo 10.5.7 then upgrade via apple to 10.5.8] . But when I've tried to do it on LPT with iDeneb installation 10.5.6 it doesnt work and it gives same issues. Im not worring about it much as LPT I have is just for testing but its another indicator that it might be an issue with updating OS.
