dregnox
Confirming Asus Rampage Formula working with Kalyway 10.5.2 updated to 10.5.7 Following the instructions posted here If you get the scrambeled screen at start up, boot with -x and apply natit once you make it to 10.5.7 A bunch of things like ethernet and graphics(Ati 48x0), PS/2 keyboard support, also all the files listed for download in the post I linked are in here, sans Apple updates. Compressed and uploaded to my ftp here use OSX86tools to backup and add new kexts mach_kernel is the vanilla 9.7 kernel if u have an Intel Core 2 processor restoring PS/2 keyboard support use the voodooPS2Controller pkg restoring Marvell Yukon with the IONetworkingFamily.kext QE/CL restore using NVEnabler0.1.kext Natit.pkg is for Radeon HD48x0 cards only use once in 10.5.7 (not for all cards just the most common specs 4850, 4870 etc...) ATY_init.kext is apparently for multicard support according to netkas. get natit working first though. Thats all the hard work done for you haha follow that mans instructions and apply the kexts for your missing hardware once you are in 10.5.7 and you're good to go ----------------ORIGINAL POSTING-------------- I've had 2 successful installs of Kalyway 10.5.2 ->Combo Update 10.5.3->Apple update 10.5.4 So i know my hardware can run OSX sans graphics card, sound card and firewire support. I was looking into getting to atleast 10.5.6 so I could use beta drivers for Radeon HD4870. I bricked both my installs by accident and got kind of frustrated so I grabbed iDeneb 1.4 at Leo 10.5.6. People in posts around the net and some here have said they have got it "all" working on Asus Rampage Formula with iDeneb. What I want to know is if you have it working can you post the customized options you used to get it to boot. I currently finish the install and get stuck at the grey Apple Loading screen with a Circle with a line through it leaving me stuck at that screen. On installation in customized; I grabbed JmicroATA, Marvell Yukon (88E something), 9.2 Kernel Sleep(what worked with Kalyway, so i assumed it would work here) and I left everything else unchecked(Same as how I did Kalyway) The 10.5.6 compatibility documents in the wiki say it should work. If i can't get iDeneb to work I might go nick me a Leopard DVD off my parents and try again with the Retail install method. There are alot of options for me to go with to get this working and it would take a ridiculous amount of time and is unacceptable for me to be doing that on shared family computers so any help from people with experience with this board is welcome. And please don't come here saying don't bother with Rampage etc... unless you have specifically tried to get to 10.5.6 with the methods I've suggested or you have a link to someone documenting a failure to achieve this. Thank you, Asus Rampage Formula x48 Intel Core2 Quad Q9450@2.66GHZ can be over clocked to 3.2GHZ on air HIS Radeon HD4870 Auzen X-Fi Prelude Sound card Marvell Yukon ethernet (works) 4GB DDR2-866(I think its 866) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175343-asus-rampage-formula-x48/ Share on other sites
