axionguy
After lots and lots of forum reading and trial and error, i finally got my mac working GREAT. Except for one problem. My DDR3 PC3-12800 ram shat should be running at 1600mhz is seen as ddr2 667. Hardware specs below. Asus Striker II Extreme SLI 790i Ultra AD1988B Audio (Works) Nforce Ethernet (Works) WD Raptors 74gb x 2 non raid (one for mac one for winblows) IDE dvd burner 4GB (2x2) OCZ Platinum DDR3 PC3-12800 1600mhz (same issue even when its clocked lower) I installed using iAtkos v4 and loaded the nforce kernel. Then i upgraded to the voodoo 9.5 kernel and updated to 10.5.7. I have also installed the SMBIOS-EFI by chaun lin (spelling?) off of the iatkos v7 dvd. Other kext loaded are the nforce sata and jmicron kexts. Thanks for the help and let me know if you need any additional info. Axion Edit. I geekbenched it as well and it reported it as DDR2 667 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173657-ddr3-ram-reported-as-ddr2/ Share on other sites
TechWiz
Only DDR3 1333MHz is supported atm sorry, however Apple is including DDR3 RAM in their products now so who knows maybe DDR3 1600 is on its way. Wait for the next kitty or downgrade to slower RAM, you choice. The RAM will still function normally now though.
