This script is in BETA version . USE : Work fine form my two ATI x1950xt 7244 1002 . FOR WORK THE SCRIPT : 1) Download the file . 2) Unzip the file with out the 10.5.7.zip ( in the directory ) . 3) Copy the directory ( 10.5.7_x1xx_card_script ) on the desktop . 4) Open terminal : cd Desktop/10.5.7_x1xx_card_script/ sudo ./install 5) FOR THE MOMENT THE SCRIPT IS IN ITALIAN ONLY ------------------------------- x19x0 beta version 10.5.7 multi id -------------------------------------------- | | | Benvenuti nell installazione guidata per schede ATI x19x0 . Questo driver ? in fase di test; per favore una | | Volta terminata la fase di installazione riportate se lo script ha funzionato correttamente specificando gli | | ID e il fornitore da voi usato ! Azimutz Posted June 8, 2009 Share Posted June 8, 2009 Hi.. Still no luck with my MSI Radeon X1600 rv516 dev id:7181 kernel panic before i had time to fix permissions. Even after fixing permissions, still got kp. But, the script works fine.. install log is clean. To fix the system, booted with -x (safe boot), installed kexts from backup, fixed permissions and updated kext cache. Think i got to buy a card if i want better graphics (running GMA950).. this damn rv516 GPU is frustrating!!! Nice work, anyway Stay safe. Dev id: 7181 Vendor: 1002 As i posted in the Italian forum, i read a bit of Italian no problems in understanding the instructions. And the patching was fine, no problems with your script. I just get a kp related with ATI graphics. I had the same result when i tested your "old" 10.5.5 drivers. Thanks. --------------------------- Edit: Solved QE/CI, resolutions, Rotation, correct vram size... and it's so simple!! Only needed to edit ATIRadeonX1000.kext and ATY_Sphyrna.kext (this one can be loaded via dsdt too). I have a feeling it may work this way for other cards...?! RobD Posted July 31, 2009 Share Posted July 31, 2009 I have it working fine in XxX 10.5.6 right now, before that I had a Kaly install 10.5.5 (I think it was that), that worked fine also. Originally, the jscool drivers worked fine, you should give them a try if you haven't already (for your Kaly install). A little buggy getting QE & CI going. - I installed empty_skull's beta 10.5.7 driver, resolutions and dual monitors ok but no QE CI joy. - I then installed empty_skull's 10.5.6 kexts with kext helper (without uninstalling the 10.5.7 driver), rebooted and now all is good. QE & CI ok. Hope this might help somebody.
