Hi after installing the kext/driver .pkg for my gtx260 and then netkas enabler i get an infinite black screen when trying to boot (it has the mouse cursor too).

It starts in safe mode fine,

My system specs are:

ASUS M3A

AMD Phenom II 720 black edition (tri core)

4gb corsair ram

Zotac gtx260 (192 core)

I installed LawlessPPC-10.5.4-Phenom-AMD on my machine. And no other drivers/kext yet apart from the graphics and enabler.

Any ideas on how to get this working - or what ive done wrong? Thanks in advance - im new to macs so it could just  be something simple  ;)

Thanks

Sam

I didnt know there was support for the 260gtx yet? What kext/driver package are using for it?

Thanks for your reply - it was just released the other day -  gt200_drivers_pkg

Ok - I just tried ideneb (v1.3 & v1.4) and both wouldnt install (keep saying "waiting for root device" - i tried switching graphics card - enabling ahci in bios, disabling all onboard devices, swapping hard drives and it still came up with this error)

I then tried IPC 10.5.6 (with updates up to ppf5) and just got a kernal panic at start (something to do with my proc).

I tried lawlessppc again and deleted all the geforce kexts and nv kexts before installing the drivers and it still gives me a black screen when starting

Any other distros i can try that work good on phenom II procs

Lawlessppc is the only one ive managed to install successfully, but the graphcis card drivers causes an infinite black screen during boot

Does anyone know anything else i can try , thanks

A program i want to test will only work if i get this graphics card working

Ok,

Just tried the evga drivers for the gt200 range - and it came up with a warning saying you need at least 10.5.6 to install this.

So i just opened the mpkg file and installed the kexts/pkg files manually then installed nefkas enabler again. Rebooted and again - still get a black screen.

Do you think updating to 10.5.6 or .7 will fix this problem - or should i just wait for a snow leopard release

Thanks
