ryuu123
Minie is SSD. If you have the problem, Your installation about AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext( IntelSCHATA.kext ) is wrong. Use ataPatch.sh to make SSD enabled kext.

ryuu123
@MagForAll Your Post #425 picture, perhaps it's not disk problem. Which boot you use? Boot from usb and select internal HDD result same?
MagForAll
@ryuu123 yes, chameleon last release, boot from USB and then select HDD, same result... M.
ryuu123
@ryuu123yes, chameleon last release, boot from USB and then select HDD, same result... M. Hmm.. I can't determine what's wrong. But it's perhaps cpu or memory init. Check DSDT.aml, com.apple.boot.plist, /Extra/Extensions1 And try CPUS=1 boot option.
MagForAll
@ryuu123 Hi, I already tried cpus=1 with no success... but i forgot very important think, apply atapatch... M.

nauzhdir
@maccosmo enjoy vaio P @ccarrieta My Install Procedure is ... (0. make vaio recovery DVD disks.) 1. shurink VISTA partition from VISTA with diskpart. 2. boot from gparted live cd. 3. create two hfs partitions on empty area(#3:16G,#4:10G) 4. format partition #4 hfs. 5. copy entire retail dvd to partition #4(be careful copied files uid/gid) 6. copy osx86 standard kexts( dsmons, ps2 and etc...) 7. copy vaio p specific kexts( download topic link) 8. replace OSInstall.mpkg to enable MBR partition install. 9. append boot options to com.apple.Boot.plist, "cpus=1 rd=disk0s4") 10. install bootloader( mbr and pbr and /boot ) 11. boot leopard installer from partition #4 12. install leopard to partiton #3 13. before reboot, install and overwrite kexts on pattions #3(installed #4 step 6. 7.) 14. append boot options to com.apple.Boot.plist, "cpus=1 rd=disk0s3") this method saves VISTA and Instant mode. but so complex. I hope someone find more easy way and post here Hi ryu123,maccosmo , I have a few questions, 1.How to install chameleon without using SL? 2.How to boot leopard installer from partition 4? ummacles
(You can ignore this, if you'd like. I never got this working, but switched things up, and now I have a new problem.) The first time that I installed Snow Leopard on my Vaio P, I did the following: Copied a retail copy of Snow Leopard to an 8 GB USB drive Downloaded and installed Chameleon 2.0 RC2 (perhaps 3) to that USB drive Downloaded vaiop20090910 and copied boot, DSDT.aml, and Extra to the root of that USB drive Booted my Vaio P with that USB drive and installation worked with no problem. Now, many months later, I'm doing the following: Copied a retail copy of Snow Leopard to an 8 GB USB drive Downloaded and installed Chameleon 2.0 RC4 to that USB drive Downloaded p20100327us and copied DSDT.aml to the root of that USB drive, as well as the contents of the Extra folder to the /Extra folder Attempted booting my Vaio P with that USB drive A second after the Apple logo comes up, the hard drive light and the USB drive light stop flashing. The spinning "loading" wheel spins for about a minute, and then a small "cancel" symbol (like this: ⦸) appears. The wheel continues spinning, but nothing happens. I've been trying replacing some kext files with the ones from vaiop20090910, but I haven't had any luck. Any suggestions? I've tried going through all of the pages on this topic, but I just can't seem to find any related information. Can anyone save my life? ALSO: Because I *can* get my Vaio P running using my old setup method, should I just do that, then use Kext Helper 0.7 to update the kexts to the current ones? I said "USE dd!!" # dd if=boot0 of=/dev/sdx bs=440 count=1 You relaize rdiskX? In the linux rdisk is usally sd and X is disk number. OSX use numeric nimber but linux is alphabet. If you have single disk drive, internal hdd is sda and usb drive is sdb. so it's # dd if=boot0 of=/dev/sdb bs=440 count=1 Be carefully installing chameleon, if you specify wrong drive, internal hdd become unable to boot. I have tried installing Chameleon as you said but unfortunately by my mistake maybe something is wrong. After the vaio sign appears, a black screen with a sentence, "boot0 : done" appears in an instant and then staight to the windows logo. I had review my step, replacing OSInstall, copying the boot file and all...can you help me guessing where the mistake I had done, please?

Well, I might be saying something stupid, but it seems to me your new USB drive is simply missing boot.... I had to re-install my vaioP recently (I did my first install according to post #209) and messed everything up just because I kept trying to install only the most recent package. You actually need stuff from the old release. Grab boot from one of the old packages and I think you should be fine.

You actually need stuff from the old release. Grab boot from one of the old packages and I think you should be fine. That's what I found to be confusing. I downloaded the p20100327us package, and didn't see boot in there. I FINALLY found out that post #196 on this thread by ryuu123 says that he excludes boot because the boot info was accepted by Chameleon, so adding boot is no longer necessary, as Chameleon writes that information. What I DID fail to notice was that he said that one needs something called pcefi by netkas, so I will be looking for that, seeing where to include that, and giving that a go.
