pev247
I had been running Kalyway 10.5.2 on a Biostar TP35D2-A7 for several months with everything working. Power management was a little flaky and time machine didn't work, but all hardware was working. I recently tried to run a stand alone update to 10.5.6 and, of course, completely hosed the system. My original install was about 6 months ago, so I don't remember all of the specifics. I do remember the sound working natively since the Apple intro video scared the cr*p out of me because my speakers were turned up and I was on the other side of the room watching TV waiting for the install to complete. I am now trying to reinstall 10.5.2 and for the life of me, I cannot get the sound to work. I keep reading that it has to be patched. I can't seem to find step by step instructions for a MAC noob to patch their audio. I think the board has the audio chipset ending in 888. I had motherboard-specific instructions from this site that I can't seem to find now. In fact, I purchased this particular MB because it was supposed to be the easiest install. It was simple when I installed 6 months ago. So simple in fact that I did not document anything special about it- I am usually a stickler for documenting stuff that is not 2nd nature to me.
