Martin Petrov
I'm running iDeneb 10.5.6 and when I put to computer on sleep the fan keeps spinning and the power led light is on. Any ideas? Motherboard is Gigabyte DS3R Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/163502-fan-spinning-when-computer-is-on-sleep/ Share on other sites
mschilling
Try a bios update, that fixed my DS4. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/163502-fan-spinning-when-computer-is-on-sleep/#findComment-1141536 Share on other sites
Martin Petrov
I just updated to the latest BIOS version, but still no luck. The fan keeps spinning during Sleep and the power light is on. mschilling
Did you try both S1 and S3 settings in the bios for power? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/163502-fan-spinning-when-computer-is-on-sleep/#findComment-1141599 Share on other sites
Martin Petrov
Yes, I tried S3 but the machine shuts down when I press Sleep (the keyboard stays on - the lights blink when pressing a key1). In S1 mode the the machine goes to sleep, but the fan keeps spinning (a bit slower though). mschilling
Dunno then, btw I have iPC and used the OHR kext, and as well the Voodoo power kext. Sleep still didn't work (similar to your problem) until I updated from F12 to F13 bios. g_h
And why don't you want to stay with S3?? if this works? I bet it takes the same power consumption in S3 as in S1 (+- 1W).....
