Hi guys,

i just bought an Snow Leopard DVD and installed it on my computer, using

Lifehakers Guide. So it's a fresh, clean installer with the latest RC of the

chameleon bootloader on an USB Pen. I restarted one time and already did

the update to 10.6.1

Everything is working just fine, exept audio...

My configuration:

Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

Nvidia 7900GT 512MB

2x 2GB Kingston Hyper X DDR2-1066

--------------- EDIT ----------------

--> Works fine with Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR !

cheers,

Times

Using ..

ALC1200_1057_SLIM Version

MOBO: P5Q-Pro

with IDeneb 10.5.7

Sound works fine so far.

I'm using Ventrilo and everbody hear a strange static clicking-noise (click-click-click..) when I'm talking. There are no problems with Ventrilo on my real MacBook. I have the problem only on my PC running iDeneb. I think the clicking-noise is there all the time. But when I'm press the push-to-talk button it's sending to the listeners. Is somebody familiar with this issue? Maybe something wrong with the driver's Mic-Input?

I've no idea to solve this problem.

Thanks..

Sorry for my bad english.

10.6.2 here.

reinstall 10.6 alc1200 kext and you'll have your audio.

OSx updates overwrite AppleHDA with the vanilla one, this will not work, you have to replace with the one I hacked.

UPDATE:

added on first post 10.6.2 applehda vanilla hacked driver

tell me if that works... it works here

The new version (and the older one as well) is not working anymore on my ASUS P6T with 10.6.2. The system hangs after booting into the GUI, I'm only able to move the mouse. After removing your version of the AppleHDA.kext, the system runs stable again (also with no sound of course).

I had the same problem as pechspilz, on P5Q-EM bios 2203, new patched AppleHDA hang the system at bluescreen, just before the login window, and eventually it only booted completely after some minutes (with no sound).... but replacing with the old patched AppleHDA for 10.6 made sound (and fast boot) work again as before.

So for me new patched AppleHDA doesnt work on P5Q-em, old one does.

Wow... very strange.

The good news is that with latest 10.6.2 I posted here sleep is back!!

Sleep is working again.

(with no sleepenabler, openhaltrestart etc)

Anyway for those who work with 10.6 version I think you can easily use that.

About P6T there's some trouble about the chip, and it could be slightly different

Hi marionez!

I tried your new driver, but doesn't work work for me.

Nov 11 14:30:10 Slyr-MAC com.apple.kextcache[260]: AppleHDA.kext is not valid; omitting from mkext.

If you can send getdump for ALC, than I can show what is the problem.

Good too "see" you again:)

sorry, 10.6 link is not working... don't know why, it's a wsite issue. hope this will be back, otherwise I'll upload again

now new 10.6.2 uploaded with dts support... I ever forget it.

Differences are unknown, updating your system you update framework and driver. Would be nice having frameworks and kext of the same version 10.6.2.

Sleep is working here with 10.6.2 and latest applehda, same there?

Hi Marionez,

I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on ASUS P5Q Pro. I updated AppleHDA.kext from your 10.6.2 vanilla link. The System Profiler shows the Audio device with various inputs/outputs however in System Preferences when I try to set up audio there is no device. Is there any other kext that I need to add besides AppleHDA.kext? I am running psystar EFI so not sure if that makes a difference too. Thanks

You can download new sleepenabler.kext from netkas.org.

Thanks marionez, this driver works great!

DTS passtrought is ok.

Good weekend:)

Is sleepenabler.kext required for audio to work ? Where can I find it? I am new to Mac OS X (on a PC) and appreciate any help.

Hi,

Is sleepenabler.kext required for audio to work on P5Q Pro running 10.6.2? I am having trouble getting audio to work. The only kext I updated thus far is AppleHDA.kext. The System Profiler shows the Inbuilt Audio Device however I don't see it in System preferences. Am I missing any other kext?

Hi,

I see the audio devices in System Profiler just like you show it however I see 2 lines for Intel High Definition Audio. The first one seems like a bogus entry but the 2nd one has all the audio devices. How do I get rid of this 1st entry. Is it from an older kext or something?

Are you using ATI graphic card?

I have to use DSDT.aml for fixing CMOS resetting on my EP45-UD3R that has HD4870. I think DSDT will make OS can't see a soundcard on ATI card.
