lain
What about a .mac clone server?
Swad
lain, I have thought about that many times... sadly I think it would have Apple Legal all over us, whether they'd have a case or not. I'm fairly sure Apple doesn't want anyone cutting off their business like that.
lain
.mac is only a WebDav server (Apache + mod_dav) Everyone can setup a server like this. I don't think they can complain so much.
Wayland
What about a user page? Say for instance a user, once they have been here for a while can set up a page that has tutorials, images, and other usefull information about hardware and such. The problem with the wiki is that you can't ask any questions about the information posted... Eh? Also, can you contact me abot changing my username to just "Wayland"? Thanks
Swad
Wayland- That's a great idea. We're looking at creating an area for users to tell about themselves and even maintain a blog if they would like. How does something like that sound? I have many different personal experiences with Final Cut Pro and some of the hardware aspects to share for sure!

caladan1810
how about something like the bink.nu site for windows. Only for All things Mac, whether it be Intel or PPC related. After all most of us here are still using, one or the other, if not both PPC & Intel Macs. Or a variation i.e. Mac OS X x86 on Generic Hardware. just my thoughts. damnit_
ditto a UB section.. and perhaps a sub for forum-member-made kits & patches if we have the bandwidth.. all in all so far so good tho, not much that i'd change at all cheers all- oh and and 'essential apps' should be more than just a sticky [deposits two cents] edit: another thought after some reading [deposits another two cents] could we stand to have a more organized wiki, perhaps a searchable HCL i dunno.. also hardware section might be divided out to separate all these non-devkit hardware items, ie. foo ATI questions from pains in the ass (myself include). and it shouldnt stop there, installation could have subs for build number, hardware could have a portable/desktop/component subs like the wiki.. idunno maybe that makes it harder to seek.. anyhow,
Swad
I would be happy to create a universal binary section, but several other people have already done so. Apple has a list on their site, but another great one is at MacUpdate: http://www.macupdate.com/macintel.php
sev7en
I would like a better forum organization: there are a lot of requests of already posted ones.
