Zyke
Hi, I have 2 partitions on 1hdd, the first one is for OSX, the second one was to install Windows, but since I didn't get that to work I wanted to get the two partitions to merge. But is it just to go to "disk utility" and chose "partitions" on the hdd and chose "1 partition" and it's done, or will it try to erase information on the hdd? (I only have information on one of the two partitions) thanks in advance Rich Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/158646-getting-back-my-hdd-partition/ Share on other sites
Enrico1985
OS X's Disk Utility can't grow or shrink partitions on the fly: it will always write a new partition table and that's it, which implies your existing partitions won't be readable thereafter! eagertolearn
try making the partition active. i've tried making vista partition active and using vistas' bootloading to dual boot, or u can use Dawin bootloader to dual boot(make Os x partition active for Darwin). CNY Mike
Download the GParted LiveCD and use that. With the graphical mode, resizing stuff is quite easy!
