ok, now i don't know whether to run the Airport Extreme Update 2007-002 and/or Security Update 2007-004 (Universal) or not. Last time, I updated everything and my newly installed 1490 stopped showing up in Network Port Configuration. I didn't know how to fix it so i just did a re-install. I did a clean install before that so it wasn't much of a problem.

Chrysaor, did you also ran the Security Update?

A question.

On the x1400s, is it possible to have dual output?

And does diabloik's x1300 .kext have more features than adding the device id to Apple's .kext? I have heard that you are still limited to 1400x1050 with his .kext.

Much thanks.

Does anyone know how to use clamshell mode? I want only external display works and internal one is off so that it will have better graphic performance? In macbook it can be easily done. However on hackintosh laptop seems it wont work. So there any hack for this? It could be very useful for some people.

Hi,

I'm about to buy a Dell m640, core 2 duo T5500, Intel GMA950 and Dell wireless 1930 and I wnated to know what version should I install for better performance. I'd like to have QE/CI support and network support at least. Also, do any of you own this model or another similar? If so, how does it perform?

Many thanks in advance.

I can confirm that it works fine, just make sure you get a Vendor supported ExpressCard/34 or /54 like a Belkin (they use TI chip) otherwise you can run into recognition problems.

e.g. don't buy the Novatech Firewire ExpressCard/34 :(

so basically I want to put OS X on this SATA --> USB2 drive, I want to leave my Vista drive alone. I don't even care about dual booting, I can just hit F12 and boot off USB drive. But when I do that it says no boot sector detected and moves on to Vista. So that means I'm missing the MBR, but OS X says the MBR is there, or at least the info in Disk Utility says this. You have a lot more info in your guide so I am going to follow that step by step.

yay! I got it, thanks to yer fdisk directions, that's what I needed was the know-how to fix the mbr. STarted CD in -s, ran these commands, and VOILA, boots.

fdisk -e /dev/rdisk1 (CD was 0)

flag 1 (only part on drive)

update

write

quit

reboot

so far so good, booting good except this SATA drive I have is being funky. I can't restart, the drive shuts off and won't boot, I'm gonna try a new drive, but otherwise working fine.

I have a new problem though. I fixed the internal NIC, but maybe 30seconds to sometimes 5 minutes it will stop working. The wireless works great so I still have net, but connecting to my server sux over wireless. Any ideas?

Also, how do I disable the built in display and use just an external? all I have is mirroring, I did add the laptopdisplay.kext file and the IOGraphicsFamily.

Thanks!
